Pottawatomie State Fishing Lake

Dispersed camping spreads across the shoreline of this 171-acre state fishing lake in northeast Kansas. Campers set up along the water's edge with direct lake access for fishing and kayaking. The area accommodates RVs and tent campers, though no hookups or dump stations are available.

Basic amenities include vault toilets and picnic tables scattered throughout the camping area. Campfires are permitted, and pets can accompany campers. Road noise from nearby highways reaches some camping spots, though reviewers note the relative seclusion compared to developed campgrounds. For those wanting full hookups, Oregon Trail RV Park provides a more developed option to the south.

Nice and secluded!

Not many insects, nice and secluded. Beautiful scenery, nice lake. Everything is perfect here. The only thing that make it better is if they had trash cans, potable water and a grey water dump.
