Lake Miola City Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Lake Miola City Park sits within the 560-acre Lake Miola Park on the edge of Paola, Kansas, managed by the city and centered on a 200-acre lake. The campground divides into two distinct areas: a lower section with pull-through sites offering full hookups and a shower house, and an upper area with back-in sites and electric and water connections. Both sections have shade on most sites. Rates are notably low, with discounts for city and Miami County residents.

Water access is a consistent draw here. Sites in the lower campground sit close to the lake, and a dock provides direct boat access from camp. Fishing, swimming, and boating are all available on the property, along with hiking and biking trails that circle the lake. The swimming beach includes a sand volleyball court and picnic area. A playground and a dog park round out the on-site facilities.

A few practical details are worth knowing before arrival. Reviewers consistently flag that many sites are not level, so leveling blocks are worth packing. The campground operates first-come, first-served, and Steve D. notes it goes "FULL" on holidays. The 14-day consecutive stay limit applies, with a required five-day break before returning. For campers exploring camping near Lake Miola Park, Lake Miola Campgrounds sits just to the south, and Sunflower Campground — Hillsdale State Park provides a state park alternative a few miles northwest. If the combination of lake access, full hookups, and low nightly rates fits your setup, this city park is worth a look.

Great city campground

This is a surprising little campground. We took our first trip in our new RV and was able to camp right along the water. The restrooms are very clean and a fun playground for the kids.

The only downside is that the sites are not very level.

A smaller, fun getaway

Lake Miola park in Paola, Ks. is a small, well kept, easy to access recreational area. All of the usual summer outdoor activities are supported, including swimming, boating, fishing, picnicking, and camping. There is a swimming beach with sand volleyball. The park is about 560 acres with a 200 acre lake. There is a dock at the campground for boat access to the campground. The campground offers several pull through sites that have full hookups. The rest are back-in with water and electricity. The sites are not very level, so bring leveling equipment! The rates are EXTREMELY affordable. First come, first served. Holidays will find the campground FULL. If you want to be there for a holiday, know that you are allowed to stay 14 consecutive days before you must take 5 day break. Fees are cheaper for city and Miami county residents.

Great little family Getaway!

The lake itself is small compared to most Kansas area lakes but sufficient for skiing. The lake offers hiking/biking trails around it, a campground, fishing, a swimming beach with a picnic area and volleyball courts. The lake and surrounding areas are well maintained and clean. The campground offers primitive camp sites and a few electric sites with a picnic table and fire pit. A lower campground offers pull in sites, a bathroom/shower house and a playground. Overall Lake Miola is a great location to getaway and enjoy the outdoors.
