Nice basic campground, really close to train tracks

The campground is nice, small and has all the basics - picnic tables, fire pits, flush toilets and showers. It sits right on the river and has a nice view of the bridge. You have to cross train tracks to get there and the campsites are right next to it. The train came through 3 times through the night and 5 more times while making breakfast. So just be prepared it might be loud depending on what you’re sleeping in. Closes for the season on 10/31.

Nice campground

Nice campground on small lake. Each site has a covered patio with a picnic table and privacy wall on one side. No campfires allowed currently. Our site has water and electric and cost $18 for the night. Really easy to reserve online. Bathhouse with three showers and flush toilets. Service is great on Vz and Att able to stream, and work the whole day with video calls.

Different pullouts on this road

It looks like there’s a couple dif options along this road coming down from the trailhead. The trailhead parking was empty when we passed but opted to keep going to try to get more privacy. Pulled off to the left (heading south) just past a cattle guard and there were a couple other vehicles. We stopped at the first one with a fire pit. Great views, mountain on one side and the city on the other. A park ranger (blm ranger a thing?) showed up about an hour after we set up to give us an Info pamphlet and ask if we had any questions. Literally never had that happen before but he was nice. Started raining in the AM and the road in had signs that it can flood so we left early. Had 1-2 bars Verizon and Att was able to stream YouTube and Netflix!

Desert cove loop

Only $18 for the night, able to reserve online same day. There’s tons of sites here. The desert cove loop has a bathroom with showers. Each site has a cement pad with fire pit and picnic table. Our site has electric and water. You have neighbors on each side but there’s a good amount of trees and space to walk around in behind the site.

Decent free spot

A free spots a free spot! There were about 8-10 spots to pull in to with picnic tables. Only one bar Verizon and att. We got there around 6 and got the last picnic table spot. Dumpster onsite which is nice! Right outside the petrified forest entrance so great if you are going there.

Great location in Sedona

The elks lodge is at a great location and the view from their back parking area is lovely. A couple hook up sites and then a small parking area for no hook ups. You would need to be self contained as there is no privacy and no facilities.

Lovely camp hosts

Turned in here hoping for a FCFS spot, got lucky on a Friday night. The campground was packed, each site had somebody. Really well maintained campground the hosts were lovely and very helpful. Great service on Verizon and att. No showers. Pit toilets. Each site had fire ring and hosts had firewood and ice for sale. Bit of road noise during rush hour as it’s right off the road and there’s construction just passed this on the road.

Campground near Provo

This campground is ok, would expect a little more since you have to pay $25. In a nice little suburban neighborhood. Spots are close together and not much privacy, our site was along the back fence. Each site had fire pit and picnic table. There are two bathrooms, no showers and no electricity. It looks like there are a couple water fill up spigots but not potable.

Great sites on Salt Lake

There’s 2 or 3 loops in the state park, we got one of the walk up sites on a Friday night. $20 and includes entrance fee, you check in at the guard station at the entrance and they said park gates close at 10pm.

Had a great view and were able to walk to trail heads. Our section had vault toilets for each group of campsites, huge fire pits and two picnic tables at each site. Only con is that the brine flies were outrageous!! I know outside comes with bugs, but this was like a different level! They actually chilled out once the sun went down but during the day constantly landing all over us. So just be mentally prepared.

State campground close to highway

Two loops that we saw, the first has no hook ups and the second has power and water at each site. There’s a little paved slab with a picnic table and covering, each site has a fire pit and charcoal grill. $30 for no hook ups $40 for hookups, got in around 8pm and no $30 sites left. There are toilets and showers for each loop. Really close to the highway so be prepared for that noise, and there’s a train that goes by every so often.

Easy BLM outside of Salt Lake

Great option just south of salt lake. The lake and Mountain View are beautiful! Pretty flat, the road in is fairly easy. There are about 8 sites along the main stretch with some other roads leading up hills, not sure what’s up there though. Some ppl potentially pushing the 14 day limit but no one gave me trouble or weird looks. No trees so not much privacy, the days I was there was super windy.

Great spot near Moab

Great BLM spot with well defined and somewhat private sites. We had 2 bars Verizon. The road closest from Moab was no problem for my van.

Great stay near canyonlands and dead horse point

Great find 10 min from canyonland and 15 from dead horse point state park! Turn off at the horsethieft campground and follow the gravel road back about 1.5 miles and you’ll start to see smaller turn offs. Found a spot with good privacy. Had 1 bar Verizon. Great for getting up early to catch a sunrise!
