Cold Spring Park

About a mile north of Lewis, Cold Spring Park sits on 104 acres managed by the Cass County Conservation Board. The campground operates from April through October with 26 electric hookup sites and 20 primitive sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. Electric sites accommodate RVs up to 40 feet and cost $15 per night, while primitive sites run $10.

Sites sit close together in this wooded county park, offering limited privacy between neighbors. The facility includes restrooms with showers and a dump station, plus allows campfires and pets. One camper noted the park filled completely by Saturday morning despite having multiple electric sites available on a Friday afternoon. The location works well for overnight stops, particularly for travelers passing through central Iowa who need places to camp near Lewis.

Small 104 Acre Park

This is a small 104 acre county park in central/west central Iowa. There are 26 electoral hook up sites and 20 primitive sites. Coat was $10 for primitive and $15 for electric. No reservations. Fist come first served. We pulled in around 3:30PM on a Friday and there were 6-8 electrical sites to choose from. (The place did fill up by Saturday morning though.) Sites are close together and there isn’t much privacy. The bathrooms are decent bathrooms with showers and over all the place was fairly clean. We just wanted a place to stay for a night or two on a pass through and this placed served the purpose. Not a place to visit if you are looking for spacious sites with a lot of privacy but it is a shady, well wooded park in the middle of nowhere Iowa If you need a place to stop for a night or two.
