Country Bend Campground

Country Bend Campground operates seasonally from April through November with full hookup sites priced between $25-$40 per night. Located near Litchfield, the privately managed facility accepts reservations and welcomes pets across its expansive property.

The campground spans considerable acreage with multiple camping areas connected by walking trails and bridges. Reviewers consistently mention the size requires substantial walking unless visitors rent golf carts from the facility. Multiple fishing ponds dot the property, with Sherry W. noting "plenty of lakes/ponds to fish." The grounds include an inground swimming pool, 18-hole miniature golf course, playground equipment, and a jumping pillow for children.

Site conditions vary significantly across the property. Some reviewers report narrow sites with limited gravel coverage, particularly problematic during wet weather when mud becomes an issue. Others describe shaded locations with adequate space. The facility provides full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections, though some sites may require tapping into neighboring water sources.

Weekend programming includes organized activities, and the campground attracts both seasonal campers and overnight visitors. The location provides easy highway access while remaining close enough to town for supply runs or restaurant meals.

Tons of activities

This is a really great campground! Huge campground with a lot of different areas. Be prepared for a lot of walking unless you rent or bring your own golf cart. Holiday weekends have so many planned activities, some for all ages. We really loved the bridges with trails to ponds, and the jumping pillow. All of the seasonal site people are super friendly and so welcoming. We’ve already booked our next visit!

GO ELSEWHERE

Our motorhome is a big rig a 42 foot diesel pusher.. They squeezed site was 7 ft wide with little gravel mostly wet grass and mud.Our 40000 lb RV was 8 1/2"ft wide. We were put in a spot by Country Bend Campground not large enough for our vehicle. Not much gravel all mud. Due to a huge tree no satellite service yet the owners stated was good for our 42 ft diesel pusher motorhome and no obstacles. We were sandwiched between two living full time people right next to us. We waited 3 hours to come in since they charge$5 an hour extra for early arrival. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!$$$$ is their goal. They want you to rent their golf carts because everything is so spread out. We have been full timing for two years. This is the worst experience we ever had. No water hookup. We called Kate Tuxhorn the owner and she said sorry i forgot to tell you that you have to tap in your neighbors water. Her husband Jeff Tuxhorn has many bad reviews too.Leaving we hit that huge tree that we had no way to turn. Thousands of$ damage.

Great family friendly campground

Great place to stay and feel part of the community.  Pretty scenery to walk around.  Plenty of lakes/ponds to fish.  We couldn't boat while there due to COVID but look forward to going back and taking our kayaks.  Attentive and Friendly camp hosts. Pet friendly. Close to town if you've forgotten anything or want to have a restaurant dinner. Close to the highway for easy access.  Full hookup available. Monthly or Season also available.

Clean, Friendly Campground

We stayed there July 4th weekend we had a great time.  Everyone was friendly they had many activities plus a swimming pool, putt putt golf, paddle boats and fishing.  It rained our 1st night there we had a big mud hole asked if there was anyway to get rock and they brought rick to get it dry for us.  Already booked our next weekend there.  Can’t wait to see how the improve the campground.

Worst campground we’ve ever been to

This campground has changed owners multiple times, and is sorely in need of renovation.  The sites are sunk down, poorly rocked and extremely narrow.  The majority of sites are backup only, which is a recipe for disaster with all of the rain central Illinois has had this Spring.  Be prepared for mud and standing water.  4wd a must
