Toxaway Lake Primitive Campsite

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Backpackers on the Alice-Toxaway Loop use Toxaway Lake Primitive Campsite as a first-night stop, roughly 7.5 miles from Tin Cup Trailhead. The site sits within campsites around Sawtooth National Forest and gives access to Toxaway Lake via a short path down to a small beach. Multiple tents fit comfortably with space between them, and the layout includes a functional area for cooking and hanging a bear bag. Dogs are welcome. Pack bear-hang gear and plan to arrive with enough daylight to set up camp after the trail miles.

Private Primitive Campsite with Spectacular Mountain View

Toxaway Lake was the first stop on our backpacking trip (Alice-Toxaway Loop). We started at Tin Cup Trailhead and did the loop counterclockwise. This campsite was about 7.5 miles from the trailhead.

We had 3 tents and each tent was able to have plenty of space from the other. We also had a great spot for cooking and hanging the bear bag.

This particular site we could walk down a path right to the lake where there was a small beach with breathtaking views!

I highly recommend this primitive campsite.
