Ten Mile Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Boise National Forest's Ten Mile Campground sits along Highway 21 outside Idaho City, running Memorial Day through Labor Day under US Forest Service management. Sites vary considerably: some in the lower section run small, with limited room for a vehicle and tent, while those in the upper section have more space and separation. Highway noise is a factor during the day, though traffic drops off after dusk. Water hookups and sewer connections accommodate RVs up to 71 feet. Campers with dogs will find dog-friendly camping around Boise National Forest at several nearby sites as well. Bad Bear lies roughly a mile northeast for those wanting an alternative.

Great Little Spot

I often think people do not give a good review because they do not want people to find the spot. We stopped here after a long day of driving, and thought it was perfect. Would have given it 5 stars if it was a bit more off the main road - overall at night it was quiet. We had spot 1 and it was right on the river, and was very clean. Site 3 also looked great. No drinkable water. The bathroom was very clean.

Serviceable stop for a night

This campground is “okay”.  The water available for drinking was still brown after significant flushing.  As listed in the description, several sites are right next to the highway, with prior screening vegetation now gone because of significant fallen trees.   Several others in the lower section were tiny, with little room for a vehicle and a tent.  That said, traffic quieted down substantially at dusk and it was peaceful.  If you are able to get a site in the far upper section, it would be nice for a longer stay.

Spacious and Clean

Ten Mile is a clean camp ground in a nice wooded area just off highway 21. The sites are large with good space between them for decent privacy. A good spot to tent camp, camper camp or bring smaller RVs.
