Caribou National Forest

Caribou National Forest's dispersed camping area in Swan Valley sits along a dirt road with a stream running through the lower sections. Sites are large and spread out, though shade is limited throughout. Campers who drive further down the road encounter large power lines overhead; the better sites are closer to the entrance. Open-range cattle roam the area, so expect cows on-site and the mess that comes with them. Campers stopping over near campgrounds around Swan Valley or passing through after Yellowstone will find this a functional overnight stop with room to spread out.

Quiet creek side camping great views

We stayed here on the way out of Yellowstone. Lots of room many spots you can be selective. It might be alluring to go all the way down the dirt road, but best spots are towards entrance. Big power lines that overtake the area further down road.

Large area with 10-15 sites.

It has a nice stream running through the area. Not much shade. There are some very large sites and decently spread out. There are open range cows in this area, and many of them. So there is definitely cow shit and nosey cows.
