Natural Features: Lake Sinclair was created when the waters of the Oconee River were impounded by the Georgia Power Company in 1953, to operate a hydroelectric power station. The Lake Sinclair Recreational Area is located in the heart of Georgia and encircles 15,330-acre Lake Sinclair. Campsites are tucked into a shady mixed forest of oak, pine, hickory and balsam trees. Although developed residences sit across the lake, the campground has a rustic natural feel to it. Several sites have views of the lake. Recreation: Located along the shore of Lake Sinclair, the recreation area offers camping, picnicking, hiking, boating, fishing and swimming. Anglers will find warm water species including crappie, catfish, largemouth bass, hybrids and stripers, among others. Hikers enjoy the 1.8-mile Twin Bridges Trail. Hunting is also a popular activity, as a variety of wildlife make its home in the area. Facilities: The recreation area provides numerous campsites available for tent and RV camping, as well as day-use picnic areas. Each site is equipped with a table, lantern post and campfire ring with grill. Accessible flush toilets and drinking water are provided. A campground host is on-site. Group campsites in the area can accommodate up to 88 people. Camping spurs have a gravel surface and standard amenities. The group area is secluded from other campsites and provides a comfortable degree of privacy. Campground is 48 acres in size and consists of open field, rolling hills, and woods. Pitch your tent wherever you wish. Can drive right to your tent site. Plenty of open room in the field for dry RV camping. Gasoline, diesel, full grocery store, several restaurants, auto parts, and hardware store all within three miles.
We have two full hookup RV site available. For tent campers, two community 110 outlets for charging phones, etc. are available. A community water spigot is available for tent campers and dry RV campers.
1.5 hrs to Atlanta and Athens, 45 min. to Macon. 30 min. to Milledgeville or Madison. 30 min. to Covington.

Gorgeous site, trails a little rough
Beautiful campsite, just a few neighbors, tons of flat space and a few fire pits. There are hunters around and we heard a good deal of shots. Saw some deer on a walk. It was quite hot but surprisingly not that buggy.

close to Rigby's and the aviation museum
Stayed here mostly to visit Rigby's and the aviation museum. My girlfriend loved the horses - different ones are coming and going frequently. My 6 year old had a great time with the other kids and pond and playground. Great facilities and staff.

Summary: I have stopped by to camp for 4 years. This time we stayed in the electric, Loop A which has 5 sites. There were other users there who were concerning. One was what looks to be a homeless extended stay occupant in a trailer. The other was a tent camping couple who decided to camp with their tents in the RV only area. That said, the lower loops, Loop A and Loop D are more visible to the camp host, thus a safer feeling. If you don’t want electric hookup, those loops are a nicer area of the campground.
(70 yr olds in 17’ trailer with a desire for a campsite that has at least some visual privacy - after the trailer is in the spot.)
Overall Rating: 1.5 for the electric sites - they are not necessarily attractive, out in the open, and no visual separation between sites. They are moderately spaced. The non-electric sites(no generators allowed as per website) area 4 rating. There are spacious and well spaced sites in the Loop B. Many sites are set back from the campground loop road.
Price 2023: $ 10.5 for elect site & 4.5 for non-electric site w interagency pass Usage during visit: Very light - Thanksgiving Site Privacy: More privacy in non electric sites Site Spacing: 5 decent sized sites in the electric loop. Non- electric loop has very large sites.
Site surface: Gravel Reservations: First come, first serve.
Campground Noise: Very quiet. Only one other camper Road Noise: Too far from a main road to be an issue. From electric sites and from some non electric sites the traffic in the access road can be heard.
Through Traffic in campground: Not through campground. There is on the access road to access the lake. Boaters use this road along with other day users. Electric Hookup: Loop A, sites 1 - 5 only Sewer Hookup: No Dump Station: Yes, just following the check in station on the right. Potable Water Available: At electric sites. Generators: Not allowed. This is a shame since this campground is so lightly used. Bathroom/ Shower House: Yes - In Loop B (services both Loop A and B). Hot water worked only in the woman’s shower. The hot water in the shower in Loop D works fine and is in a little nicer facility. Drive to that one for a shower. These are pretty old buildings, but pretty clean. Bathroom only house in the day use area is new and nicer to be in. Pull Throughs: Site 5 is a pull through. Cell Service (AT&T): 1 to 2 bars. Setting: In a deciduous forest. Lower loop( non-electric) has a lakeside (or two)trailer sites . Weather: Cool and partial sun. Bugs: None Solar: Depends on the site and probably none when there is foliage. Host: Yes. Located in D-loop .
Rig size: Not suited for big rigs.
Sites: Loop A is the Electric loop with 5 sites. Loop A is not so great. There are beautiful extra large sites in non-electric/no generator lower Loop B. Loop C has been “temporarily”, as per signage, closed for at least 4 years. Loop D has smaller sites, many of which look to be tent sites. Small Campground, Big Appeal
Small, family owned campground in a rural area has a comforting, relaxing atmosphere where you feel like family. We are first time RVers and were nervous about our Shakedown trip. Rob and Matt walked my husband through every step with “insider” tips. Mindy was so welcoming and gave me lots of good ideas while the guys set up. She is also the best hostess organizing food, fun, and friendship by the pool. We will definitely be back!!!

Quiet and Refreshing
We stayed here for one night on our way to Savannah. The grounds were well kept and it felt very comfortable. The FHU pull throughs are spacious and easy to manage. This is country camping; with goats and cows right next to you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay after a problem filled travel day. Thanks to Dwayne and Deborah for creating a safe and clean place for people like us.

Gun fire inside park
Stayed several nights in RV site. Bath house had only one toilet due to the other being out of order. Bathroom was not clean. Person drive through the park firing a gun at 4 am and the police were called. Also appeared to be done "full time residents" with dog that barked all night.

Very nice owners. Very quiet and peaceful location. I had a full hookup site. Owners helped me get situated. Loaned me a water hose. Felt very safe here. Beautiful sunrise. Excellent cell signal which is important since I work remotely from my camper.

It’s a decent park to stay for one night. You can feed some goats and there’s a playground that’s really old and a little dangerous. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

This is a decent campground. Lake Sinclair was nice to view, but there are only a small handful of sites right next to the water. Overall it’s a nice view, the beach area is small and wasn’t the best swimming because the water was muddy due to recent storms.

Only 5 RV sites. First come first serve. Fortunately end of November not busy. Spacious sites with fire pit, grill, and picnic table. Bathrooms are rustic, not well kept, not much hot water. Overall park is not well kept, but great sites, small beach area, and nice lake area.

The owners of this campground are phenomenal. Great people. The RV Park is located just outside from Dexter Georgia and about 7 min from I-16. Surrounded by goats, horses, Cows and Peacocks makes this an ideal family camping experience or for someone who wants to escape from the daily stress. Wifi is also fantastic as well as the water. This is not an usual RV park where you camp site by site. Here are 10 available sites with enough distance from each other. I highly recommend to Stop here for a visit or long term stay. André

Great Park!
This place is HUGE!! As others have said, the sites are a little close together and there's some traffic noise, but neither bothered me very much - I was real close to the road too, so not that bad at all. I was quite comfortable the two days I stayed here. They have a little convenience store with camping gear you may have forgotten (or didn't know you needed!), souvenirs, food, and other essentials. The bathrooms are nice and there are some on-site fun to be had with a basketball hoop and playground.

Our Saving Grace!
We were so happy to get a spot here! We’d had a terrible experience with another campground in the area, & rolled in here at 9:30 PM to wonderful, spacious, gravel pull-thru sites with full hook-ups, & views of the pond. This is a great park & professional people! Well maintained grounds. Clean & safe!!! 280 sites, & over 100 are pull-thrus. Amenities: camp store, playground, pond, WiFi, cable, laundry, bathrooms, shed/storage, etc. Close to shopping & eateries for all your needs.

Very spacious camp sites complete with a gravel square to set up your tent, plenty of trees to hang hammocks, a charcoal grill, fire pit, hanger for trash, picnic table, and beautiful views of the lake and surrounding forest. Restrooms and showere near most camp sites too. Will be returning!

Fair Harbor is truly a Fair Harbor for RV travelers!
These people do it alll right from clean convenient bathrooms to a lovely park atmosphere even though RV slots are fairly close together. (Clearly a popular place for many regulars! And i see why with its quality & convenience..close to the interstate exit.) Did i mention the bathrooms were sooo nice & clean with all the helpful details like nice tile seat in each shower and more? They were so helpful and kind on the phone as we were first time/last minute guests on a rainy night making sure we knew which exit to take! Oh, yes and there is a pretty fountain in the little lake just for fun! (Bonus: Cracker Barrel right nearby!)

Small recreation area with decent campsites
It was a nice area. We were on campsite 11 right by a little fishing pier. Nice views of the lake from the campsite. Bathrooms and showers were better than most campgrounds I’ve been too. Lots of wildlife noises at night. The swimming area had a lot of people when we arrived Sunday.
