This is a little gem of a state park. Indian Springs State park has a lot to offer. The camp sites are the other side of the lake from the group and public shelters/picnic areas etc so you feel away from everything. The park offers a museum, trails, kayak rentals and more.
The multi-purpose hike connects to the Dauset Nature Center trails and is worth taking the extra mile or so, at least, to go visit the nature center. The hike is rated as quite hard on All Trails and similar apps but, in reality, is fine for most levels. I am recovering from a back injury and this was my first 5+ mile hike in years. It was more than manageable.
One downside of the parks location is that you are close to Jackson and neighboring towns. There were some noises (e.g. loud cars) that could be heard from our site at night. It wasn't constant or overly intrusive. The main complaint was that other humans in the park seemed to not have consideration for their camping neighbors and enjoyed driving golf carts around while playing music at full volume. That can happen anywhere though and maybe shouldn't be a 'negative' for the park.
The park is well kept, comfort stations are fine and staff very friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay at Georgia Veterans Memorial SP. we stayed in site 72 on Camping area #3. It faced the woods with a walking path. It was very private with the exception of the occasional hiker. So it was very nice to feel so secluded.

We made this reservation many months ago and have rescheduled a few times as our plans changed. Today, we checked in and filled our propane tank. The person was training at the desk and messed up the billing. I got to site 112, which was not very level; I had to jack the front of the RV off the ground to get level. The sewer connection was uphill, so I did not dump tanks. WiFi was spotty and very slow. Cell coverage AT&T and Verizon were both poor. The site was muddy from water runoff. Convenient for overnight stay. But not a campground where I would spend multiple nights.

RangerSpot #30 has a Water view and is less expensive than a site on the water. So if you bring a boat you can pull it up on shore by your site. Very nice camp ground, park, marina, golf and military museum. #30 is a long pull thru site with water and electric. Well worth the visit.
ScoutWe should have known when we first arrived not to stay here. Our welcome was very brisk and unfriendly. Our site was literally right next to the freeway with terrible freeway noise and fuel smells. We asked to be moved and our new site was so narrow that the picnic tables didn’t even fit in the site and tottered on the edge of the site’s bank. They offer site garbage pick up daily, but not to monthly stays. So they drive right by your site while picking up garbage to sites right next to you! Playground is satisfactory but the dog park is muddy and rocky. When we signed in and mentioned we were excited about having a dog park the check in person said she wouldn’t take her dog to it! I highly recommend driving right on by! We use KOA’s regularly and this campground management is far below KOA standards! Beware!

We had pull thru site with full hookups. Everything worked and site was level. We made reservations and arrived after staff was gone. There was a detailed map and directions to get to our site. Worked great as a stopover to our final destination.

Summary: I have stopped by to camp for 4 years. This time we stayed in the electric, Loop A which has 5 sites. There were other users there who were concerning. One was what looks to be a homeless extended stay occupant in a trailer. The other was a tent camping couple who decided to camp with their tents in the RV only area. That said, the lower loops, Loop A and Loop D are more visible to the camp host, thus a safer feeling. If you don’t want electric hookup, those loops are a nicer area of the campground.
(70 yr olds in 17’ trailer with a desire for a campsite that has at least some visual privacy - after the trailer is in the spot.)
Overall Rating: 1.5 for the electric sites - they are not necessarily attractive, out in the open, and no visual separation between sites. They are moderately spaced. The non-electric sites(no generators allowed as per website) area 4 rating. There are spacious and well spaced sites in the Loop B. Many sites are set back from the campground loop road.

Sites: Loop A is the Electric loop with 5 sites. Loop A is not so great. There are beautiful extra large sites in non-electric/no generator lower Loop B. Loop C has been “temporarily”, as per signage, closed for at least 4 years. Loop D has smaller sites, many of which look to be tent sites. Some of these sites are nicely located close to the lakeside in both B and D.
RangerDon’t go!!!! The person said it was a vaca must have stayed in some pretty bad campgrounds. The sites have crumbled asphalt so hard to find sold place for jacks. We pd for sewer but didn’t get it. Roads were tight with lots of trees and set up on circles. Two older gentleman on a golf cart said they just purchased it 5 days ago. Based upon prior comments and pictures I don’t believe that to be true. You come in on a frontage road with a switch back right by the turn into parking area. The left turn into the park is like a tight u-turn in which there is a huge ditch or drop off that you can’t make without the rear of the RV dropping into this ditch. The campground sits a bit below the frontage road. To compound issues not only can you not make that turn without the back of the camper in this ditch and ripping off the jacks and other components in the rear, there is a sizable crest on frontage road so while our 42’ 5th wheel was sitting on the road we were hoping nobody came flying down that hill and be not able to stop. It was suggested by a guy waiting for us on the switch back to get out of his way to back up and go up the switch back and come in from the other side. It worked but that’s dangerous and needs to be taken care of immediately. Laundry room was ok and reasonable.

ScoutMy family and I looked forward to our stay at this KOA given our experience at other KOAs had been great. However, this stay was FAR FROM ENJOYABLE. To start, the two older male employees made my teenage daughters feel very uncomfortable. Multiple times both daughters, myself and husband saw them watching the girls at the pool from outside the rales. The pool steps were slippery with mildew. The area around the pool and the siding of the pool has tons of cracks and is not smooth, very hazardous. Next, the bathroom near the pool, where the employees smoke, made it hard to breathe to walk pass. We walked into the bathroom and walked right out. It was absolutely disgusting. Given the pool was not safe to use, my daughters decided to try out the cable and Wi-Fi, as advertised on their site. Well, I was told the cable was disconnected, and the Wi-Fi“out at the moment.” There were two“power outages” in our 3 day stay, which in turn meant our AC was off for hours at a time in the 98-100 degree weather. This was brought to the front office attention and I was told pretty much deal with it for now. At night we would smell the worse smells( marijuana), and witness drugs/ alcohol being used by two of the employees. As aforementioned, these concerns were brought to the front office staff/ management, and nothing was addressed nor apologizes were given. Honestly, several of the employees live onsite and protect each other when it comes to discussing/correcting the issues. You get a Cult like vibe from this group of people that work here. The manager lives in a double-wide in this camp ground. It is very unkept and tons of broken down/ old equipment fills up her yard and all around it. It is a hazardous place. I would be concern for kids to ride bikes, etc in here given the mess around her place; as well as, The playground is nonfunctional. Overall, the only decent thing this park has or offers is the pizza. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend wasting your money on this poorly managed and unkept campground. So, with us having a week reservation we decided after three days to end our stay early and travel 12 miles north to the KOA in Griffin; This was the best decision we made. It was as we had expected from a KOA park- great experience. We enjoyed our days in the Griffin KOA.
TravelerWe stopped here on our way south to Florida out of curiosity. Earlier in the year, we had been in Cordele to ride the SAM Railway which was based next to the park and had decided to stop on our way back through and check out the campground. The GVSP is well maintained with alot of open space, lake access and a historical museum honoring Georgia Veterans. The camping area is spacious with back in and pull through sites. The roadways were narrow and paved with the sites being gravel and level in most cases. Sites along the lakefront are a bit more expensive but the lake can be viewed from any site. Shower houses are cleaned daily by camp hosts and are well maintained. We were advised by another camper that sites fill up quickly on weekends but are usually available during the week. We only spent 2 nights (on a whim) but will return for a longer stay in the future. A great area for biking, fishing and boating.
GuideWe visited this campground April 23rd and stayed for 2 nights. Campground is very clean and peaceful. We dragged our feet on booking so ended up with limited sites to choose from. Site 49, still a great site just not as private as some of the sites on roundabouts.
Site 49 has a slightly mild downhill walk about 30 yards to get to the edge of the water. Not really an area you would jump in and swim at though, stagnant water in the corner. We used it for setting up our hammocks and used it for the view of the lake.
There is also a small old town right outside the campground with a small ice cream place / museum and old market with minimum things in a pinch.
There was also another campsite within 10-15 minutes of Indian Springs and they had a trail you could walk along the waterfalls and river.
ScoutStayed several nights in RV site. Bath house had only one toilet due to the other being out of order. Bathroom was not clean. Person drive through the park firing a gun at 4 am and the police were called. Also appeared to be done "full time residents" with dog that barked all night.

This is a gorgeous campground. The grounds are kept immaculate and most every site has ample room and beautiful scenery. Or at least where I was located #67. I like how level the site was. And the stones! So much cleaner. I want to add that the grounds manager does a fantastic job of keeping everything operating, looking wonderful and providing friendly oversight of the entire campground. 100% will return.

This KOA is just off of i75, super convenient for an overnight stop (which was what we did). Our boys loved the early 80s Era playground, but unfortunately it wasn't kept up well and was frankly dangerous- the large swingset wasn't anchored to the ground, the fence was partially torn down near the roadway, and there was rust on the equipment. They didn't kbiw the difference and played on it for an hour having lots of fun, but it is an accident waiting to happen. The woman who we dealt with at check in was awesome- super nice and friendly, and gave me a teacher discount. Our site was a nice large pull through with a picnic table and fire ring. Setup wasn't difficult. There was some wet dirt, could probably use some gravel. The campground looked to be in a retired pecan Grove. Not a ton of privacy but large sites and nice trees. While you can hear the highway, this one is not immediately adjacent but one property away, so it isn't bad. The property between the campground and the highway is a large abandoned building.. slightly shady but not a problem. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
GuideEverything this KOA has to offer is exactly what you would expect for a KOA Journey location. Full amenities, clean park, decent camp store. The only thing that is lacking is not anything to do with the KOA itself but the lack of anything else at this exit on 75 including gas and food. Have to head up the interstate an exit or two to find this stuff.
GuideWe camped here on the way to Florida. We enjoyed all of the military history around the park. There is also a disc golf course my husband played. Best part for us full timers was the FREE laundry. 🤣
LegendOverall it was a fantastic experience. It was a little under $50 a night, but worth the customer service experience alone! I ended up needing stamps for our postcards and when I called the office to inquire about having any, the camp host went to her RV and got me some from her personal stash! That’s what I call phenomenal customer service!
They escort you to your site, and then they bring you cookies! The site itself was very very narrow and rather unlevel which we were not fans of. That is the only complaint.
They offered food services and delivered your order to your site, and the facilities were very clean even though we opted not to use them.
If you do decide to visit the area, make sure to take the short drive down the road to The Whistle Stop Cafe! Get there early because they fill up quickly.
GuideCheck in was a breeze, site level, everything clean and located well for out rig. Property had two bathhouses plenty of clean comfortable facilities. Lots of seasonal and full time and all sites seemed well kept, and neat. Convenient to highway with some noise but better than many. Wi-Fi is better than average near office, at least while others are not trying to stream video or something else bandwidth hungry. Great looking pool, but it is empty. Maybe for winter? Great TV game room and nice laundry (and another restroom, single seater) defiantly would stay here again!

Shower house is nice and clean and even have a club house with games, puzzles, tv, laundry, coffee, tables, books, etc...would definitely recommend.

1st time for us to Indian Springs. Very clean and well maintained. Site 19 was on a less populated loop and a long stretch of woods on the "driver" side thus no neighbors. Site was very easy to back into.
We stayed in March, so when the leaves are off the trees, you can see the lake. Kinda doubtful you would during the summer. Gray water dump is very close. Bathhouse was about a 2 minute walk, but didn't use it.
I'd stay on this section again, but maybe across the street. or preferably down by the water. There's a short drop off behind the fence by the fire ring, that the dog keeps trying to go down and getting stuck - imagine little ones may love that area.
The town of Flovilla is right outside the gates, with some shops and a nice restaurant. Dollar General is 5 mins away. Dauset Trails Nature Preserve is about 15 minutes away, but note pets aren't allowed. High Falls State park is about 15 minutes away with good hiking trails. Plus boat, and paddle board rentals.
ScoutVery nice rv park! Has many amenities that you would find at the "chain" campgrounds at a fraction of the cost. Great staff and easy booking process. Trash pick up, dog park, pool, games! Even had someone to follow to our site, which I have found doesn't happen every day. If we find ourselves in the area in the future, we would be happy to stay again.
TravelerWe received an email the day before confirming our reservation and to call if we weren't in by 6pm. Our arrival was at 9 so the early call left our check-in info posted and easily obtained upon arrival. I walled through the camp ground the next morning and evey site is well maintained. My site was only off level by 1 inch left to right so leveling and stabilizing were a breeze! Hard packed gravel and well maintained grass medians between sites with an almost new picnic table at every site. The distance between sites (that are easily identified with posted numbers) makes you feel like your not sitting on top of your neighbor. No obstructions for your slides and hookups were clean, maintained and ready to use. A great gaming area and a playgound that is meticulously kept up! You can tell they take pride here and we will definitely be back!!
