As with all of the Georgia State Park , this was a nice, quiet campground. The lake was beautiful and if you’re looking for solitude, this is the place. Zero cell phone reception (honestly, zero) so if you need to connect to home plan on heading to the visitors center about a mile away for a…

Very well kept grounds. Camp site was clean and bathrooms where clean. Very polite workers too. Did not have cell service. But that just made the family closer lol.

This park is beautiful and completely unexpected given its surroundings. Definitely something unique and worth seeing. The camping is rather rustic, and as another user noted, the road to pioneer 1 and 2 and not well maintained. The road to pioneer 3 looked like it might be easier for a smaller…
We stayed at this campground in a pull through site in February on our cross-country adventure. Plenty of room for big rigs. Easy to navigate roads. Safe for kids to ride around on bikes for hours. Site are big and the one we were at backed up on woods. Great view of the lake and sunset. Lots of…

Big sites. Big pool, baby pool, kid pool with dump bucket and Lazy River. Play ground. Outside bar & Grill. Lot to do. Clean
The area was absolutely beautiful and I would have loved it if it weren’t for the RV next to me that ran the generator all night. There was an alligator cruising the water while I was there and minimal bugs considering we were along water.
This place is amazing. We had started to lose hope that campgrounds like this still exist, but apparently they do.
It’s gorgeous. It’s clean. It’s peaceful. It’s free! What else could you possibly want.
There are a lot of gators in the river, so swimming is a no go however.
There is no…
The campground only has a little over 20 sites, keeping the whole place nice and on an intimate scale, especially if you are able to snag one of the lake-side campsites, which have nice lake breeze and beautiful views. The park is an important sacred site (I suggest visiting the mounds at sunrise),…

Absolutely love this place. Super easy to find, you just go down a red clay road. There’s plenty of sites up close to the pond, fire pits everywhere, picnic tables, clean garbages. The trooper came by in the morning and cleaned the bathrooms and changed the garbages. Overall this place is so clean…

Free. Found a good spot with a view of the water. Watched the alligators and birds on the water. Was able to easily launch a canoe as there is a boat ramp. Vault toilets were available. Picnic table, fire ring, and grill at each campsite.
Site #89, nice level site with shade. The other sites nearby are very close so no a lot of privacy.
Campground was very busy with swimmers, fishermen, boats and jet skis. Not like the state parks I have camped.
This is a beautiful campground. Very wooded, beautiful pine trees. Camp sites are spacious. Drawback was that some sites had alot of water on them and in them. Lots of low lying areas in the park and some campsites so, during rain it's gets very wet and can have alot of standing water. Bathrooms…

Yes, the roads need some work but honestly the sites were large. Most folks camping were there with boats for fishing. It had rained quite a bit so we didn’t get to do the trails too muddy/swampy. We biked and it was nice for those who just like a five mile easy, couple hills only, type riding.
It is clearly an older park with not much recent love. It is clean but not perfect.
The sites have older hookups but they are functional. The campsites are not level and some of them you have to guess where to put the trailer. We stayed on April 8& 9 (Thursday and Friday) and found it…
We enjoyed this off the beaten path state park. Nice , quiet area with the mounds and trails to explore. Super friendly rangers and welcome center staff.
