Right beside GREAT dog Park - but no dogs on the beach

RV Site was great and very close to lots of things

Restaurants, shopping, parks, beaches

Cute shop on RV Campground

Not a lot of privacy

Beautiful but noisy

We stayed here for three nights in March. Beautiful private sites, moss covered trees and great hiking trails in park with nice nature center and little store. The sites along the outer road near road back to a golf course. Avoid if you don’t want to wake up at 6am to power tools, very loud power tools. being used for at least an hour or two, every morning. You can’t see them but can hear them! We loved our site, so private and large, but the noise drowned out the birds and disturbed our nature time. Too bad. We drove to Savannah, very close, and rode our bikes around. Visited Wormslee, gorgeous alley of live oak.

Biting bugs

We were there in April and there was a ton of gnats that would swarm the RV and the bite! It was cool to see the Civil War stuff but it does have a separate fee. We also had an issue with the site numbered strange and had to move. The section we were in the sites hadn’t been mapped out yet.

Perfect Spanish moss covered campground.

We loved the natural setting of this park. We had a mama deer with 2 babies 25 feet from our camper. The people at the gate and office were super friendly as well as super clean bathroom facilities.  I would recommend!

Precious Gem

We had a quick overnight on our travels towards our destination, but we loved it so much we re-routed our return home plans to come back and spend more than a nights rest. Staff are all so sweet and helpful. But most of all the facility has everything for a family fun time. Leveled, full hook up sites. Heated pool, hot tubs, awesome lazy river, fun kiddie water park, great lake side restaurant/bar. Will highly recommend and will definitely return!

Great Base to Explore Savannah

We followed the road into the park until we got to where it stated campground to the right and registration to the left. There was a drive through slot to the side of the visitors center that we could have pulled into to register but we parked in one of the large parking lots in front. There’s a road at the far end of the large parking lots to get back to the campground. After registering, which included a parking pass fee, we headed to site 56 with water and 30 AMP, which we had reserved on line. However, this was our first time here and we found out the road to Camping Area 4 to get to back-in site 56 was quite narrow. We have a 39’ 5th wheel and I would not recommend anything larger driving into this part of the campground due to trees and tight turns. For larger rigs, recommend areas 1 and 3. We were actually able to pull thru into site 56 then backed up to get situated. We had to use our leveler blocks on the door side to get level. Once settled, this was a great campsite and one of the largest and most private in the CG. You cannot see campsites on either side of this site as they are farther down the road and there are trees and plant cover. There are campsites right across the road but with the position of our rig and F450 we could hardly see those sites. This is a beautiful campground with a forest feel and nice trails. For the amount of campers during our four nights stay, it was peaceful and quiet. Not that you need them, but there was a nice variety of OTA channels. We got 2 bars on Verizon. There was a lot of tree cover in the CG so satellite would be iffy. There were a variety of sites in all four areas that included pull thru, FHUs, and 50 AMP. There seemed to be no real rhyme or reason throughout the CG as to which sites are FHUs, 30 AMP, 50 AMP or pull thru. There were 3 shower houses with a laundry room on each. If eligible, be sure to ask for military discount on the parking pass fee. Our nightly rate was based on a senior discount(62 and older). The visitors center had a very nice gift shop and also sold firewood. We had a great experience and would definitely return.

Pleasant State Park

Stayed 3 nights in mid-March. Very convenient to Savannah as well as SC border. Plenty of shopping and stores (Target, Lowe’s etc) within 15 minutes. Three clean and well stocked bathhouses with hot hot showers and laundry in each. Very quiet campground while we were there during the week.

Pros… Beautiful natural surroundings Several nature trails with historic markers 2 dump stations Central trash (no recycling) All sites are large, some are MASSIVE

Cons… Our site could use a good cleaning, bits of trash scattered around and needs gravel refresh.

Booking site advertised cable but none at our site (perhaps the premium FHU pull throughs did?)

Hookups for back in sites are very close to the road so be mindful that you might need extended cords if you want to get further into the area.

We love to support the State Parks so happily paid the $45 a night.

Peace and tranquillity in the city

Red gate is a hidden gem. This is a beautiful farm of 200 acres situated 5 minutes from downtown Savannah. Everything you could ask for: pool, ponds, horseback riding, goats, beautiful landscaping, room to roam or play. We had a fabulous time hanging out here and will definitely return. Call if there are no reservations online, they have some dry camping available- totally worth it!

HORRIBLE experience, Rip-off "conscienceless" Parking

We paid$3.5 for 1 hr parking at Ticket machine, parked where everyone/car parked, placed the paid receipt on Dashboard, spent just roughly 25 mins exploring the Beach, came back 20 mins before Paid Parking expired at 4:46pm, and received$75 CITATION($95 if not paid within 10 days).

We sent photos of paid Parking and Citation to Tybee, politely asked to void the Citation, reasoning if someone honestly paid the Parking time, that person had no intention to do anything not legal unless didn't know, paid attention, etc due to being a Tourist, then a"Warning" or"Notice" should be given, not a Citation(as it is only meant for deliberate violation). Request declined!

We really made BIG mistake this“single time” since many times in the past we always went to Hilton Head Island(visited Savannah 4 times and only went to Tybee this time) even though Georgia residents. Right after the Citation, we kind of get feeling it was deliberately exploited at visitors, we decided to leave Tybee right away without spending a single more penny(had reservation at A-J Dock restaurant). As mentioned, we paid 1 hour but left the Beach after just 25 mins since the Beach was smelly, shallowed, the farthest ends of the piers were not in water at the time because they were short, etc.

We’ll continue go to Hilton Head(free parking, clean Beach, showers, more upscale, etc) and similar advice to anyone visiting the Savannah surroundings and want a Beach. This one-time mistake(visiting Tybee Island), for us, would mean(to our hearts) never ever again with Tybee!

Quiet and convenient

Very nice farm! Beautiful grounds with ponds and animals (horses and goats). Great location. We took a trolley tour of Savannah. They picked us up and dropped us off at the farm (about 10 minute ride to Savannah). Next visit we plan to do the horseback rides.
