January Winter campsite

Long with plenty of space for 37' Trailer & two cars in drive. Concrete parking pad and for.pinic table and fire pit. Lake access but has stone riprap at this site so no shore to land boat. Water down maybe 3 to 4' at winter level rock sand dirt shore line.

Short drive to Hartwell to shop or eat

Peaceful serenity

Have waited six months into our RV life to start reviews for fair comparisons. Spent 5 nights. This was our introduction to ACE campgrounds and we were sold right away. Huge site right on the lake. So peaceful. Not a whole lot to do in the park (fine by me, happy to stare at a lake) but nice long walk to the dam, some reasonable mountain biking quick drive away.

Nice campgroud, but dated.

This is a nice campground, but seems to be in need of some TLC,  The layout tends to give some sites a very good view and lots of room while others are very close, all have picnic tables and fire rings.  The sites tend to be on the small side also, but there are some suitable for larger rigs and plenty of overflow parking.  Bathrooms, though older, were clean and well maintained. The dump station has only a single drain, so last minute checkout leads to long lines.  Cell service was good as was over the air TV.  We stayed in a 30' motorhome and would not have had room for another vehicle on site.  Some sites have room for a tent, some don't.  We found it to be kind of noisy from traffic over the dam and on the road alongside the campground.

Depends on which spot you pick

Lots of walking trails. Beautiful lake views. Unlike other COE campgrounds in the area, this one is open year round. The entry and exit can be kind of tight getting in or out with trailer. Bring leveling blocks. The spot I stayed in required about 4” side to side. Some spots were water view and quite spacious. Other spots were actually kind of awkward. A look at the campground map for a site near the water would be your best bet.

On Beautiful Lake Hartwell

Great COE Campground with the best camp host I have ever met. He was always happy and funny too. Lots of great sites on the lake. Most sites are large with trees.

Love Watsadler!

First time here, and we loved it! There was direct lake access from our campsite which was amazing. It is in a cove so it was quiet with hardly any lake traffic. Has 2 playgrounds & bath houses. 10/10 will come again!

Glamping favorite

We like to camp but we don’t like to rough it so we call it Glamping. Watsadler has nice spacious sites. Only sites 1, 11 , 24, & 26 do not have access to the water. The rest are right at the waters edge. its quiet and well kept. But for us the best part is it is close to town, restaurants and grocery stores are just few miles away.
