Nice little campground, tent spots could be better

I slept really well last night here, and the camp host and guests were just great. Heated bathhouse with warm shower was definitely a highlight on a chilly morning!

Only downside in my mind was that I booked a tent site, only to find that the tent sites are down the hill from all the other sites, so if you book them you will have to haul your stuff down to the lake. It did sound like the night-time fishing would be awesome though!

Remote and peaceful

First and foremost, if you have a rig over 30' book only sites between #12 and #16 by the bathhouse. All the others are too small or hard to back a bigger rig into. All are back in spots and be prepared to drive up and down a couple of steep ( but paved ) roads. Once settled into this campground you will definitely enjoy yourself. From eating on your own private deck ( fire pit and BBQ too ) to the serenity of the lake below. Have a canoe or Kayak a added blessing. We were there for just a night as we were traveling to Florida. Although fine for a night, due to getting to the campground from the highway to setting up, a couple days or more time there is more suitable. We have Nomad internet and it worked fine for my computer and our tv's, not the strongest but workable. After a beautiful sunset, a knock on our door camp from the camp host who informed us they were told a tornado had touched down 11 miles NE of us and heading SE. So all the campers headed to the bathhouse where we chat and socialized for about an hour or so till the storm past. Good to see the State and the camp host are looking out for their campers!

30 and 50 amp service with water.

No sewers but has a easy access dump station before the camp sites.

Great little campground right on the lake

Stayed here this month for a 2 night camp. The bathrooms were cleaned daily and they have trashcans at each campground that they provide trash pickup for daily. There's a playground in the campground and a beach with another playground in the near by day use area. In the middle of the campground there is a 1.4 mile nature trail that was a little overgrown but still walkable. Overall it is great family campground on a good size lake with some decent fishing.

Tuuurrrnnnn....NOW!

Not a well marked trip in, Trust the address to get you there and there is the sign at the front, that's about it. Start looking for the sign in the 7000 block of Red Bud Rd. Things to check out on the way in

  1. White, Ga old style Mercantile Store
  2. Ga. Countryside!!

3. Fairmount: groceries & gas (6m)

4. 156 W gas/grocery

5. Ranger, Ga : Antiques

Very picturesque! The campground is situated on a hill with the campsites tiered one above(or below) the next. Not much in shade or privacy but well kept and clean. The lake parking is in a different area so the campsite is limited access which is always nice. Each site, depending on where you end up has a balconied picnic /deck area. If your bike riding you will get your exercise :)

The main attraction would be the lake. There are rentals and a swimming area, and EVERYBODY was fishing ;) very quiet!
