Quiet loop near a small lake

We went mid-November, so water and bathrooms were closed. The sites are not very private, but there is some space in between.

Would probably be more fun during the summer.

We love camping at Lake Winfield Scott

Been here 4 times now (tent camping) and it really is a gem. The sites are relatively spread out, and it’s a short walk down to the lakeside. There is a swimming area, and it’s more of a locals’ spot than a destination. Really good option if you’re looking for something quieter and cheaper than Vogel. There is a bathroom with running hot showers by the lake, but not in the campground. From here you can hike to Blood Mountain peak, about 7 miles roundtrip. There is also a path around the lake. It’s $18/night or just $9 if you have a National Parks Pass.
