The Home Depot — Florida City

RV travelers heading to the Florida Keys will find this Home Depot parking lot provides straightforward overnight access just off the Florida Turnpike. The large, level asphalt surface accommodates big rigs with wide lanes and bright lighting throughout the night. Campers report mixed experiences with management policies, as one reviewer noted the store manager stated overnight parking was not permitted, while another family successfully spent the night along the tree-lined perimeter areas on the east side where conditions remain calmer.

The location puts campers within walking distance of gas stations, fast food options, and a hot dog food truck that operates in the parking lot during the day. While restrooms close after store hours, the well-lit lot maintains security with some late-night traffic movement typical of commercial areas. For travelers seeking alternatives, Cracker Barrel Florida City sits less than a mile away and reportedly welcomes overnight stays.

Shady Gateway Stop Before the Keys

While reading the comments here before arriving to this Home Depot, our family had no problem finding a spot to spend the night (in the shady tree-lined lane running adjacent to the store). Right off the Florida Turnpike in Florida City, this Home Depot offers a medium-sized, open parking lot with EZ access, wide lanes, bright lighting and a mostly level surface that makes pulling in after a long drive feel straightforward, especially if you settle along the far edges on the east side or back perimeter where things are a bit calmer. The area is full of nearby gas stations like BJs and Mobil, fast food such as Subway and Dunkin as well as casual dining options like Waffle House, but you should try the hot dog food truck in the HD lot. While there are no overnight restrooms, the lot itself felt well-lit and secure, with some light traffic and occasional late-night movement but nothing overwhelming for a family stop. We grabbed a quick dinner nearby at the Texas Roadhouse before winding down for a cozy movie night. I would recommend this stop for families looking for convenience, good lighting and EZ highway access before reaching the Kys, even if it is not the quietest overnight option.

Home Depot- Manater says no

Went to this Home Depot Store and the manager said they do not allow overnight parking. The lot is large and easy to maneuver. Good for a short break during store hours. Instead I went to Cracker Barrel. Which is close and very welcoming to overnight stays.
