Lake George State Forest

The River Road Campground is located in the Lake George State Forest (Volusia County), about 15 minutes southeast of Astor, FL. This campground has the following facilities: campsites communal pitcher pump (non-potable) and communal portalet. No electric hookups avaliable. Recreational activities featured here are: hiking, horseback riding, hunting, picnicking, bird watching, wildlife viewing and photography.

  • Be bear aware: keep all food out of sight in approved containers or locked inside your vehicle and remove all food from the area after eating.
  • A communal pitcher pump with Non-potable water and a communal portalet are avaliable on site. No electric hookups at this facility. A gate combination is required to enter this campground. The combination is found at the very bottom of the confirmation email sent from Reserve America when a site is booked.
  • Don't Move Firewood: Please protect Florida forests by preventing the spread of invasive species. Firewood can carry insects and diseases that can threaten the health of our forests.
