Ocala National Forest's Freak Creek Dispersed Camping sits well off the pavement, and the road in reflects that. The main access route has deep ruts, and an alternate route includes a water crossing that has reached bumper height on lifted vehicles. Four-wheel drive and recovery gear are strongly recommended. The site itself is overgrown and sees few visitors, partly because of those access challenges. A creek on-site allows swimming and fishing. Pets are welcome, campfires are allowed, and those who make it back will find dispersed camping near Ocala National Forest is rarely crowded here. Nearby, Bluff Landing offers a more accessible alternative just to the north.
