Drive-By RV Parking Lot in the Middle of Nowhere

Located in central Florida right off Highway 19 (due Northwest of Orlando) and a stone’s throw from Lakes Eustis and Yale, this roadside despot is a mediocre stopover if you’re in a pinch for a decent place to pause for the night. While quite compact, this boutique RV park has a few different loops that will take you around the small, but alluring little Smith Lake that this property is situated around.

While most of the spots on these grounds seem to have been occupied for some time by the same RV renters, there were a number of spots available when we stopped by. Nearby in Dona Vista, you’ll be able to access a single restaurant – Mason Jar – which serves up, as you would imagine, local homecooked southern fare, like biscuits and fried everything, and they feature here homemade tea, which, um tastes like Lipton tea bags left in the sun for a few weeks. Apart from this single joint, there’s a handful of mechanics shops and about 50 churches (which based upon the population here, could only serve 2 people per service).

Net-net, there’s not a lot here, so stop in, fuel up, spend the night, get some rest and head onwards to wherever you’re going.  To be clear, this place isn't a destination, it's just a layover. The RV park itself has all the standard fare: water, electric and sewage hook-ups, complete with a (surprise, surprise) heated inside pool, overlooking the lake. If you’ve got a canoe or kayak, take it for a spin on the rather small, but nonetheless inviting lake. There’s the standard picnic tables, garbage receptacles and even a community BBQ. Overall, the ‘don’t tread on me’ community is quite closed-knit here and suspicious of anyone that hasn’t been parked here for at least a year.

Happy Camping!

What amenities and facilities are available at Lakeside RV Park in Umatilla, FL?

Lakeside RV Park in Umatilla, FL offers basic amenities for RV travelers. The compact roadside park features restroom facilities and provides hookups for RVs. Its central Florida location offers convenient access to Highway 19, making it accessible for overnight stays. The park is situated near Lakes Eustis and Yale, providing opportunities for water recreation in the surrounding area. While not extensive in amenities, the park serves as a functional stopover location for travelers passing through the Umatilla area.

How does Lakeside RV Park in Umatilla compare to other nearby campgrounds?

Lakeside RV Park in Umatilla positions itself as a simple, convenient option compared to other area campgrounds. While more basic in amenities than some competitors, its location off Highway 19 offers easy accessibility for overnight travelers. The park's proximity to Lakes Eustis and Yale provides similar water recreation opportunities as other local options, though in a more compact setting. This boutique RV park serves primarily as a functional stopover rather than a destination campground with extensive facilities. For those seeking more amenities or spacious settings, other campgrounds in the greater Umatilla area may offer more comprehensive experiences.

Are there photos or a virtual tour of Lakeside RV Park in Umatilla available?

Photos of Lakeside RV Park in Umatilla can be found on the park's official website and various camping platforms including The Dyrt. These images typically showcase the RV sites and general layout of this compact roadside park. For the most current visual representation, contact the park office directly as they may have updated photos or virtual tour options not available on third-party sites. The park's proximity to Lakes Eustis and Yale is also often highlighted in available imagery.

Does Lakeside RV Park in Umatilla offer monthly or long-term rental options?

Lakeside RV Park in Umatilla does appear to accommodate longer stays, though it's primarily utilized as a stopover location. For specific monthly rates and long-term rental policies, contacting the park management directly is recommended as these options may be limited and subject to availability. The park's modest size suggests a limited number of long-term spots. If seeking extended stays, inquire early about reservation requirements, monthly rate structures, and any additional fees for utilities or amenities that might apply to long-term guests.
