Awesome for Tent Camping!

This place was $20 a night, and had lots of sites for RVs and/or tents. The host was kind and helpful. Bathrooms weren't far, they were clean and had warm showers. There is a bear box, fire pit, grill, and pinic table at every site. It was fairly quiet, some boat and road noise in the evening. The sites themselves weren't far from each other, but had lots of trees and bushes to separate them so you aren't right up on your neighbor. We decided to leave a night early because of a thunder storm coming in and not having time to dry out our tent before we left, but I wish we could've stayed longer! We will certainly come back!

Secluded sites

Lake Dorr, NF campground in Ocala NF, FL Some sites are pretty secluded. This is not necessarily super attractive campground to me. I don’t know why for sure. It may be because a portion of the campsites seem unattractive due to thick vine growth surrounding the sites. However, the campground right near a pretty lake. Many sites are private. The lake is not visible from the campsites.
Bathrooms are currently out of order. 11/2023 (Scale 1- bad, 5-Very good

Very peaceful

I pulled up and happen to meet the host in her way to her camp site . Super sweet & made it so easy for me !! I have so much anxiety about dealing with people . It was super simple , no hassle payment / fee envelope with drop box . So easy and very peaceful. It was exactly what I needed . All the camp sights looked amazing ! It was hard to decide between what one to set up camp . I stayed 2 nights almost 3 .. was planning to stay about 5 or 6 . A storm & wind looked a little to heavy for my tent’s capabilities to handle it . Plus my dog has major thunder anxiety. Lol .. It ended up being a simple light rain and a cold front . I wish I hand stayed . I’m heading back soon !! I didn’t get to explore the lake . I planned on paddle boarding …

Next time . Every campsite has its own little private nook . So it’s up to you if your a social butterfly or want to just be anti social . Always depends on the mood and reasons for getting away I guess . I have absolutely no complaints. It was very well kept , bathrooms were clean and very well maintained. Props to the hosts . I love the NO PRESSURE easy , laid back vibe of the campground . Respect the campground and you will get respect of peace . Not like someone overlooking, or wandering what your doing because they have nothing better to do . It’s a very very very simple, EZ way all camping should really be like . I hope it stays like this .

Clean and quite

Lake Dorr is a super nice camp site located less than an hour away from some of Florida’s natural springs. It’s also in the middle of two towns, Walmart is about 20 minutes away along with other stores and restaurants! They have communal bathrooms which need a code to get into. They have picnic benches and fire pits at each camp site. Each site is tucked away in their own little pocket. Everyone there is super nice and quite. It’s also a good place to go if you don’t have a reservation, everytime I’ve gone they’ve had open lots, they aren’t strict on arrival times and they’re generally very nice and understanding about check out.
