Reservations are available at this drive-in campground within Blackwater River State Forest for $17 per night. The forested site provides full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections, plus drinking water, restrooms, and a dump station. Campers can access both lake and river frontage for fishing opportunities.
Charles M. notes the lakeside location includes showers, fire pits, and an asphalt boat launch suitable for electric motors. The campground sits near other forest camping areas, including North Karick Lake Recreation Area just southeast. Pets are welcome throughout the property.
Description
The Karick Lake Youth Group Camp is located within the Karick Lake Recreation Area, in the Blackwater River State Forest (Okaloosa County), about 1-hour northeast of Pensacola, FL. This group camp is located on the north side of Karick Lake (65-acres) and has the following facilities: campsites with water (potable) only, restrooms, and showers (available in the Karick Lake North Campground), boat ramp and pier. Recreational activities featured here are: fishing, boating, canoeing, picnicking, bird watching, wildlife viewing, nature study and photography.
Electric boat motors only.
North Karick Lake Youth Area has drinking water but no electricity at the group camping site. Restrooms with showers are available in the campground. North Karick Lake youth area and its vicinity is in a non-hunting zone. During the main hunting season from Thanksgiving to mid February it is recommended to wear fluorescent orange when hiking away from the camping area.
No swimming.
Pets allowed on leash.
Alcohol prohibited.
If a camper is incorrectly set up on your reserved group campsite advise the Campground Host. If the Campground Host is not on site, courteously advise the camper that you have a reservation. Please have your reservation with you on your electronic device, or have a printed copy, or have your reservation number.

Directions
From Interstate 10 take Exit 56. Travel Highway 85 northbound to Highway 90 in Crestview. Turn to the left and head west to Milligan. At Milligan turn to the right onto Highway 4 to Baker. In Baker continue heading north. The road name changes from Highway 4 to Highway 189. At 4 and 189 travel 7.7 miles to the North Karick Lake sign and turn right onto the entrance road. When entering the campground take the dirt road to the right to a gate. Use the combination received to unlock the gate and proceed to the youth group campsite.
