Description
The Charles H Bronson Primitive Campsite is located within Charles H Bronson State Forest (Seminole County), about 40 miles east of Orlando, FL. These three primitive campsites are hike in and hike out sites only. There is no water or electricity at these sites. Each site has fire ring and picnic table. Recreational activities featured here are: hiking, bird watching, wildlife viewing, wildflower viewing and nature study.
Cell phone coverage is unreliable within the forest boundaries. Depending on cellular provider, some cell phones may have service in portions of the campsites and some phones will not have service at all.
Trail users are recommended to wear 500 square inches of Blaze Orange during the hunting season. Please review the Charles H. Bronson Wildlife Management Area brochure for hunting season dates before visiting the forest at Myfwc.com/Hunting/WMA-Brochures.
Campsites have no drinking water, trash receptacles or restrooms.
Pets are not recommended but if you do bring them they must stay on a leash.
Alcohol is prohibited.
Be aware of snakes, alligators and bears.
Camp access is hike in and hike out only.
Campsites have a fire ring and picnic table.
Campsite # 1 Joshua Creek Campsite can accommodate a maximum of 6 people. The campsite can fit 3 tents size 5 feet by 7 feet or 2 tents size 6 feet by 7 feet.
Campsite # 2 County Line Campsite can accommodate a maximum of 6 people. The campsite can fit 3 tents size 5 feet by 7 feet or 2 tents size 6 feet by 7 feet.
Campsite # 3 Fern Campsite can accommodate a maximum of 6 people. The campsite can fit 3 tents size 5 feet by 7 feet or 2 tents size 6 feet by 7 feet.
Campfires/Firewood
Fires are only permitted in the existing steel fire rings.
Cutting standing trees (alive or dead) is not permitted.
Leave No Trace
Camping is restricted to the designated sites.
Pack out all trash, including all food and food waste.
Pet waste must be picked up and removed from the campsite.
Respect wildlife and be considerate of other visitors.
