Under New Management!

I am actually a seasonal resident here, and this park and its seasonals have been through the ringer since new ownership acquired the property in 2021. It was severely mismanaged for YEARS. HOWEVER, last year (2024), new management took over, and the park is getting back on track! This is one of the most unique parks I have ever stayed at. It has a TON of activities and a strong community of seasonals and residents. The scenery is beautiful, and the weather sure beats the hell out of Texas summers. I did not give it 5 stars for a few reasons. 1, there is absolutely no cell service below the dam where the park is situated. Cell service for the entire area is non-existent from the bottom of the dam all the way to the subdivision of Forest Lakes. 2, WIFI is only available at the office and Pavillion area. There is plenty of seating around there, but it is something they are working on. This park has been neglected, so infrastructure and rebuilding community is top priority at the moment. 3, while this park is technically handicap accessible, I personally would disagree as it doesn't meet my standards for what I think that should mean. Other than those 3 things, the New General Managers have been GREAT! The seasonals and residents are happy and smiling again, and the community is back! We absolutely love it here, and to be very honest, the people make this park! We also have the cheapest and most competitive rates in the entire Pagosa, Bayfield, and Durango area for the scenery and placement. It makes for a great homebase if you are looking to head out on adventures!

Very aggravated

Upon arriving at vallicito rvwe parked behind a golf cart that was blocking drive assumed it was to escort us to site went in to office and was yelled at for blocking fire lane told to drive building went back after a old woman told me a 35 dollar charge for being early told me to park in street said sent me a E mail I said I was in mountain's no service for 3 days a young girl stepped in an said It was all ok to go to site because she knew about service stay away from this mess

Beautiful location, poor cell service

Vallecito Resort in beautiful Bayfield CO. We stayed here 3 days. This park is quite beautiful and well maintained. Staff is super friendly and helpful. There are a lot of seasonal residents here but all seem very friendly. We even joined them for a Christmas in July evening of decorating a tree, desserts and listen to Christmas music. Had a nice size spot #56. Very quite at night. Great location for day trips as we visited three near buy lakes, and Mesa Verda National park (used your America The Beautiful pass for free entrance). I would love to stay here longer and visit more locations but was only able to get three days. Cell service sucks with Verizon up here and WiFi available near office area only.

Vallecito RV Resort

We stayed here for 3months. It is a scenic area, within walking distance to the Lake. The sites are tight, close together. The owner went out of his way to get us in for the summer. Really a good owner. A couple of the ladies in the store have personality issues. I assume just a product of their upbringing, but just not friendly at all, and not helpful. The Bathrooms & Laundry are clean and up to date. Wifi was being upgraded but it was almost non existent , might be better now. Phone service was also non existent. There was one spot on the backside of the park you could get a signal to check messages and mail. The rates are good. Daily, Weekly, monthly and also seasonal. Overall, a nice place to visit, just a little tight, and dont expect a smile at the store!
