Nice park to stay that. A little packed in but overall it was quite the nights we stayed. Cell service was good. Park provided cable TV and has a free basic Wifi. There is a pool, and some nice old barns, covered wagons to view on property. They also have gas station and general store.
This is a no service campground. I used it for an overnight stay. Very warm end of May. Had cell connection through Verizon. Clean space. There is a waterfall that can be hiked to from campsite, planning on doing this this evening.
Came down to southern NM to visit my daughter at NMSU and stayed at Cabello State Park campground in Riverside view. Campground has very easy access and large pull through sites. With my NM state Park pass the over night stay is $4 with water/electric 30amp regularly $14. Sites with sewer include are $18 nightly. Nice level sites and super quite at night. Temperatures in August upper 80s and low 60s at night.
This campground has been designed for those who love the night skies or use a telescope. It been desidnaded as one of the darkest night skies in North American campground. Very peaceful, all size RV good. There are no services except for 2 very clean toilets. There are about 6-7 designed RV spots with tables and fire ring and probably another 6-7 spots near campsite on approaching road. This is a Free campground. I had 3-4 bars on my Verizon. Nearby hiking trails.
US550 and Cabazon Rd. The first 4 miles off US550 is BIA land, you must keep going to get to BLM land. I saw about a half dozen locations to camp. Dirt road all the way and some rough spots along the way. I took a 34 ft 5th wheel in but if you dont feel confident with your ability you may pass. I went in about 9-10 miles off highway and camped about 2/10ths of a mile from a parking lot for a walking trail. Very peacefull and great night stars. There are a couple of hiking trails nearby and even a mountain bike trail. I had 3 to 4 bars of Verizon cell service.
This campsite in Pie Town New Mexico is just on the south side of the Hwy near the volunteer fire department. There are plenty of spots. I did notice a bathroom and a place for water but personally didn't check them as I was in need of nothing. I would definitely recommend this location for a quick overnight stay. There was also a playground across the road that the kidos could use to burn of some energy. Good cell service.
As we where driving to our next destination I stopped to check out this National Monument. Plenty of parking and even easy access with my 34ft 5th wheel. There are two trails to hike, I was a little short on time and just did the shorter one in about 30 minutes. This hike takes you along the base of the cliffs and to a natural pool of water. Trails are well maintained. I also saw they had an RV park there at the Monument but was limited to trailer under 27ft. Worth the stop and was dog friendly as I took my dog on the hike.
Spent the night at the Ice caves and Bandera Volcano with my wife. We did the hike up the Volcano and then down to the ice cave which cooled us off after the hike. They charge $12 per person with a discount for children. It was a very peaceful night. Cell service with Verizon was ok outside but poor inside trailer. There was no charge for this stay through our Harvest Host membership. I would definitely stay again.
We are boondocking at the Ice Caves and Bandera Volcano near Grant's NM. This location is open to Harvest Host members for a free over night stay. You can hike to the open face of the Volcano and then down to the amazing cold of the Ice caves. Entrance is about $12 each. Cell service is good through Verizon.
This is my type of park. Located in a beautiful valley giving away to peaceful nights. At an altitude of 8100 feet I enjoyed pleasant days 76° and cool night 56°. Pet friendly park with WiFi and good Verizon cell service. Restrooms are still closed due to Covid 19. Took a day trip to Great Sand Dunes. Pass Port American card got me 50% off one night.
Great location for those wanting to visit Mesa Verda National park. This park accepts Passport American for a half price discount. Prices around $45 nightly. I short 8 mile trip to entrance of park. Don't forget your American the Beautiful pass for free entrance into park.
The Last Resort RV park is hidden into a very peaceful valley. They are open year round and have River side spots for those under 26 feet long and some very large pull through spots with lots of space. No Verizon cell service and very poor Wifi. If you truly enjoy your peace and quiet this is the spot for you. Staff is very friendly.
This is one beautiful park located just south of the town of Pagosa Springs Colorado. Great family atmosphere, you even get free ice cream. Very friendly and helpful staff. Fresh eggs available for sale on site. 41 RV spots with chose of Mountainside, Blanco River or large pull through in the center of this beautiful property. Two nights will run you about $119. No Verizon cell, poor wifi but the quietness and beautiful of this location is well worth it.
Pagosa Cool Pines RV park is centrally located in Pagosa Springs Colorado. It's a small very well kept park with less then 30 spots. No tents or popup campers allowed. Meet with the owner and he shared with me that the cell sevice and wifi were great and that he provides 40 channels of cable. Daily RV rental is in the mid $50s. It was a beautiful park was the owner aloud me to drive through. Some hiking/walking trails on property.
This is a well maintained campgrounds with great friendly staff. The San Juan River and small lake are on property. We are in spot #40 a large pull through with electric and water only. Dump station available on property too, most spots are full service. Dog friendly and great paths around lake in which to walk your dog. Wifi throughout park and I have two bars of cell service with Verizon.
We stopped by and spoke with the camp host and took a tour of the campground. Was told that this campground is 1st come 1st available spots, no reservations taken. We had also visited the other near by campgrounds managed by the forest service and felt this campground had the nicest views of the lake was Middle Mountain campground and next time up this way would definitely try and stay here. Almost all the spots and no services but did see location to get fresh water and saw a couple of restrooms. Tall pines all abound. 14 day limit.
Vallecito Resort in beautiful Bayfield CO. We stayed here 3 days. This park is quite beautiful and well maintained. Staff is super friendly and helpful. There are a lot of seasonal residents here but all seem very friendly. We even joined them for a Christmas in July evening of decorating a tree, desserts and listen to Christmas music. Had a nice size spot #56. Very quite at night. Great location for day trips as we visited three near buy lakes, and Mesa Verda National park (used your America The Beautiful pass for free entrance). I would love to stay here longer and visit more locations but was only able to get three days. Cell service sucks with Verizon up here and WiFi available near office area only.
This is my second visit here this time with my wife. After I shared how amazing the night skies where she wanted to join me on my next trip. We will be spending a couple days here and the onwards to Bayfeild CO. It's been warm in the afternoon with no trees in our boondocking spot. We have been running the AC most afternoons till around 6-7pm. The evenings cool enough to just open all the trailers window and enjoy the evening. We've been grilling outdoors and sitting for hours at night enjoying the night skies. The dogs love it here too, plenty of trails for walks. As of now it's still is a no burn. Cell service has been good and over the air TV has plenty of channels to choose from.
New owners to this RV park. They plan some upgrades in the near future. The park has two sections, one for long term residents and one short term. 30and50 amp service available. Has buddy sites as well as individual sites. All size vehicles welcome.
Isleta Lakes & RV park is a clean and beautiful park. With it's own lake and views of the Sandia Mountains it's worth the stay. The casino provides a shuttle service to and from your RV site to the casino. There are plenty of places to eat, grab a show or even get a massage at the Spa which we did. They also have a large bowling alley and gameroom if desired. Only draw back is it's near a train stop and you definitely will hear the trains horn.
