Just ok with good facilities

This spot is at the end of the town but within walking distance of almost everything. I found it to be expensive. It appears to be fairly new with no vegetation so don’t plan on natural shade. The restroom facilities are very nice. New and modern. It was full hook up. However, close to $100 a night I was pretty expensive.

Not tight

We stayed here 2013-2021 every year. Not sure about the complaint of being tight in another review as this was not our experience. We have stayed in various sites over the years in a super C (semi truck) that has very little turning radius and was able to navigate into the spots easily. We were able to put out our slides with a wooden picnic table available between the sites with a good 4-5 ft on each side of the table. We are 41 feet in length and pull a 30ft trailer. Our height is 13.6ft. The owners were gracious to let us unhook and park our trailer nearby. They have showers and toilets as well as cabins and hotel rooms. They do offer jeep rentals but as of 2022 the town does not allow ohv’s in town. They have 50amp, water, trash, and sewer. The train is an awesome bonus as it drives by everyday in the peak season. We chose in 2022 to stay elsewhere do to the towns views on ohv’s.

Tight and administrative problems

The campground has a train that comes in from Durango once a day. It’s fun to watch and the mountain with the bridle vail waterfall. There’s a walking area behind the park as well. Just make sure you get a confirmation and it’s what you sign up for or you will be charged. In their mind they don’t make mistakes.

Nice and clean; good views in the fall

Stayed the week here in September and did work/virtual schooling from the mountains. Owners are no nonsense but very helpful and friendly. Strong cell signal from all three major providers AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile (again, work/school so we had lots of redundancy). Verizon got a bit slow at night, but during the day otherwise all three were great. The restrooms at the sites were very clean. The area is gorgeous and you have lots of hikes and waterfalls available for you. Seems like everyone else was doing the off roading thing… will have to come back to do that next time.

Site had full hookups. We were here in mid-September and the temps got down into the 30's at night. Owners required disconnecting water at night to prevent their water pipes from freezing and bursting.

Nice place to stay.

This place gets pretty crowded but nice place to stay. The views are awesome and you're right in the middle of everything, edge of townzl, minutes drive to forest service access, rivers all around, and lakes not far away. Silverton has ohv road access and plenty of places to take them. The staff is friendly and helpful they will escort you to your side and if available have you pull straight through to your spot. The sites are a bit close but for the most part the place is quiet make sure you have blocks as they are not level at all. The facilities are clean and well kept but no shop in the office however the town market is right across the street. The lower sites back right up to the rail road and you can watch the train roll by. They offer jeep rentals and plenty of other options for that area as well.

Red Mountain RV Park generally receives positive feedback for its convenient location and stunning mountain views. Guests appreciate the prime position at the edge of town with easy access to Silverton's attractions, forest service areas, rivers, and nearby lakes. The campground is strategically located on the edge of town within walking distance to most attractions. Behind the park, there's a walking area for guests to enjoy.
