This campsite has a lot going for it. It’s next to the river, has a vault toilet, and is close to some incredible hiking and off roading trails. But it’s not at all private. You’ll see and hear lots of people with all of their noisy generators and annoying children.

I got in on a Thursday on a non-holiday week and it was still very difficult to find a spot. It may have been a fluke for me but just keep it in mind.

There is a mobile septic service that comes by that is worth mentioning. San Juan Mobile Septic Service: 970-630-9742 for Kent and 970-946-9383 for Keri.

Got lucky and found a perfect site right by the creek with a fire ring. Easy to get to in our camper van, no 4 x 4 required. Vault toilet on site. Wasn't crowded even though it was Memorial Day weekend.
