All gravel, but neat and clean. New Owner's for one month now. Nice folks and they are working hard to spiff the place up.
We stayed in the Cool Caboose for a night! It was definitely cool. We were greeted with a warm welcome upon our arrival. An ice cold bottle of water for each of us was a nice touch. The caboose is very cozy and has everything you need for an overnight stay. We made great use of the back patio for dinner and breakfast. The only feedback I have is regarding the beds. They’re not the most comfortable, but they’re sufficient. We’d stay here again. We walked the property and I’d have to say, out of the dozen or so KOAs we’ve stayed at, this is definitely among the best!
Fair Pricing! A perfect one night stay for campers who need a place to stay and won’t be using the extras as they do not use a dump station or electric. If your on the road, out of state (quasi-retired aft. 65) trying to see YOUR country and not having deep pockets. Colorado not only charges you a fee to drive into their state Parks but also charge site fees for a camping site. (They should make allowances regarding out of staters & 1 night stays.) This Park was great and does that. It is level, pet friendly for ppl who travel with a pet. (We do not) Plenty hot water in the shower. Happy to have discovered them via local C’ty Rec Ctr. ALSO, really enjoyed friendly knowledgeable staff!
Right after we set up, a huge storm went through. Never lost power and all was fine. Staff was friendly. A weird set up here, but it works well!! Facility is all gravel. Plenty of room to maneuver. Nice grass area for dogs.
It’s a KOA, so yes, everything is pretty nice! However, jacking up the price because it’s a holiday weekend, isn’t that price gouging? $52 WITH a veteran discount, for a TENT SPOT! REDICULOUS!!! If it hadn’t been so late in the day, I would have kept going down the road! Also, lots of highway noise, and the occasional train!
Very well taken-care-of campsite. Tons of spots for RV’s, with hookups. Tent sites have a designated tent spot, fire pit, table, and even a sink. The office store has anything you need, but there’s also a Walmart right around the corner. The wifi is strong, the laundry is cheap, and the toilet paper is soft. This site was a terrific break from camping on the road without paying for a cheap, terrible motel. All for $40 (tent site)! Very happy with our stay.
Love it here! Clean grounds, lots of birds. Quiet place, was able to catch up on sleep during the day. Super friendly owners and office staff of the feline variety! 😺💕
Clean, friendly
I'm not sure what you'd do for more than a day in La Junta, but this was a great overnight spot for us in late September. (Old Bent's Fort is worth the side trip). Not crowded and restrooms were clean. Nice pull through sites, cute older playground, and a pool if you're in season. Late arrival instructions were obviously posted.
This has been a very good 3/4 of the way stop for us when heading to CO and UT.. we have the same site we had last time.. supper nice people and easy access.. Walmart is next door and there is food close by if your looking for an easy meal..
Was here for a month while working expensive for a month stay but staff was friendly, try to stay towards the back unless you like hearing a carwash at all hours. Has a small creek that is at the edge of the park was very nice while on nightly walks around park. Spaces are decently sized some have HUGE shade trees.
Very nice clean and convenient campground. Sites are well equipped and the prices are very affordable. We’ll stop here again.
...but strange parking. Tip — park further away from hookups than you think you should. Very nice common area. Sculptures, structures and grass 😉.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Sundance High Plains RV Park. From the wonderful welcome we received when we checked in to the amenities of the Park it was great. Moderately priced, attractive, and accommodating.
Nice RV park with a bonus of "cabin" rooms in a newly refurbished vintage motel. For a few bucks more than camping, we opted for a nice room with queen beds and a hot shower. Delightful change after 11 days camping.
