Grassy Run Trailhead in Colorado is surrounded by forested terrain with trails suitable for hiking. Temperatures range from lows in the 30s Fahrenheit during spring and fall to highs in the 80s during summer. Nearby, visitors can explore the scenic beauty of Routt National Forest and enjoy activities at Steamboat Lake State Park.

USDA Forest Service

Designated trailhead with access to trails into Green Ridge area and Troublesome Basin roadless area. This is a non-motorized, multi-use trail. No developed facilities. Setting is at interface of sagebrush/aspen/conifer forest area. Timberline is at approximately 10,500 feet elevation. This trailhead is managed by the Parks Ranger District.

Directions

From Walden. Drive south on Hwy 125 passing through the small town of Rand. Approximately 4 miles past Rand turn right on Forest Road 106. Drive approximately 6 miles to the intersection of Forest Road 106 and 715. Take the right hand fork following the 715 Road approximately 3 miles to the intersection of the 715 and 721 Forest Roads. Follow the 721 one mile to the Grassy Run Trailhead.
