Not my favorite

When I arrived, I found out the water had been turned off for the season and the dump station was closed, this should be noted on the website in a spot where you can’t miss it Almost all the spots are on the slope so there are steps you have to go down to your table. Spots are very close to each other, no privacy. Tables are old, wooden, and slanting in a lot of the spots. The worst part is the traffic noise, I definitely won’t return to this campground.

Great Camping

Bathrooms were very clean and safe. The lake was amazing and the sites are somewhat distance from others. On the flip side you here the next highway, but once I was asleep I didn’t hear anything :)

Beautiful view

Beautiful view of the lake. Neighboring campsite was a little too close for my preference. May pick a different spot next time we visit this site.

Nice hilltop campground with views of the surrounding lake

We stayed at this campground for almost a week beginning of October. The weather was nice, the hosts were nice and visible, and the views were spectacular. I would imagine that this location is heavily trafficked during the summer months due to its proximity to the water and the surrounding towns.

We had decent cell service and were able to work from our trailer, which is a necessity for us. The bathrooms and water were all closed off (COVID and colder temperatures at night) which was a bummer, but we just brought water jugs to fill up our fresh tank. There were porta-potties, but they weren't always stocked up with toilet paper. In perhaps 5-10 years, the trees will be much larger and offer a lot more wind protection and shade/ privacy.

The best part about this campground was the proximity to towns such as Granby and Grand Lake. Both of these towns offered a lot of fun and interesting shops. Granby has a nice and reasonably priced grocery store, and Grand Lake has all of the little shops on the main street as well as lots of restaurants.

We would probably consider going back to this campground, but wouldn't hesitate to try out another one next time.

There are some amazing views of Grand Lake. If you love to boat, sail, swim, fish, hike or ride horses this is your location. In the fall the colors can be wonderful. This campground is located at 8,300 feet on the north shores of Lake Grand. Be prepared for the devastating damage the Mountain Pine beetle has done and continues to do to the forest. The rangers are working to take down and remove dead pines. Be careful hiking in the woods because of the danger of falling limbs and trees.

Cool spot to stop

We stayed here for the night while visiting RMNP. The water was turned off while we were there so there was only port-o-potty use for restrooms. Cool view of the lake.

Very tight and reservations a mess

We checked recreation.gov and called twice to verify the morning of that there we ample first come first serve sites. When we arrived all the sites had signs saying reserved. We talked with camp host and he said that people can reserve sites with him locally, to which I asked “how is that first come first serve?” He got very rude with me. Once recreation designates a site first come first serve a camp host shouldn’t reserve sites. That would make the website completely inaccurate. The camps were very exposed and close together. The sites are good if you are purposefully there for water activities but if you are not than it’s not very private.

A NFS Campground with RV Hookups!

We only stayed 2 nights when snow was forecasted and we wanted to be plugged into power to run our heat. The sites are wide open with little privacy, there are flush toilets and access to the lake. We stayed in a first come first serve RV site with power and water during early season snow (the day after Labor Day!) with high winds. There is a dump station but it was closed due to freezing temps when we left.

Beautiful location next to lake!

This park has a LOVELY location right on the lake; try and pay attention when you are booking to get a really good spot. Camp host was friendly and facilities were clean. Just walking around the loop of the park a few times was a great activity and saw lots of fishing and paddleboarding. Great stay!

Nice campground

Great view of Granby Lake from most of the camp sites. Not a lot of tree cover but it was very pretty. Mostly quiet and we are at the entrance by the boat dock.

Chilly Mountain Nights

Be ready for chilly nights, and winds, even in July. The setting is the best part of this campground. Stillwater is crowded and the sites are pretty close together. Sites turn over new inhabitants every day or 2 in many cases. Bathrooms are old and not well kept. There are some good reasons to stay at Stillwater, however. There are pretty little beaches throughout, the views of the mountains are beautiful, and the campground is close to the Rocky Mountain NP, several cute mountain towns, and every outdoor activity you could possibly want to do.

Great convenience

Great location between grand lake and grandby, trees are young, but the whole area has this problem. The beach is amazing our kiddo threw rocks and explored all day! There is a little traffic noise in the morning and in the afternoon. I suggest a site on the “B” loop.

Beautiful Spot

Had fun at the little campground for a few days, not much in the way of trees or shade but that made the views all that much better. Our site had water and electric. There were toilets and showers on site. The lake is beautiful and the little boat ramp and dock is just right on the other side of the campground. Not a lot of site privacy because no big trees. Sites had picnic tables and fire pits. Camp host was helpful and friendly. There were small trails down to the beach.

Lake view and well maintained

The Stillwater Campground is right on Lake Granby, with great views of Rocky Mountain National Park and true Indian Peaks Wilderness. It can be a bit cramped in some campsites, while others are a bit more spread out. Amenities were clean and well spaced apart. This is a campground worth staying.

Good views - okay location

Gorgeous mountain and lake views, however, the campsites are way too close together. You basically camp within 20 feet of your neighbors. The campground is also right off of US-34 meaning that you will hear highway traffic all day. No tree coverage but nearby Rocky Mountain National Park.

In the shadow of the mountains

Campground sits by itself on a small peninsula in Lake Granby, CO. Has many drive up spots with gravel tent pads. Sites are not right on top of each other so you will have some space. We arrived after dark and setup; the view in the morning was a wonderful surprise. Almost no trees/shade, expect sun and wind exposure.

Great for Family/RV camping

I went to Stillwater my first time to the Grand Lake/Granby area. The campground is well run, has plenty of hook ups and toilets. The reason for 3 stars is the lack of seclusion that I seek when camping. Also, it can be quite crowded on popular weekends. It is a GREAT location and easy access. Perfect for RV campers or family trips. Enjoy the water and the views!
