Old park but good price

June 2025 – Just a heads-up: the restrooms are only available for long-term tenants. We paid $153 cash to stay here for a week. It’s an older park, but it felt safe and is very close to everything. The owner mentioned he’s been managing it for about nine years — he’s a bit odd and talks slowly, so just be patient; he might come off as rude at first. Other than that, all the hookups worked fine. Note that they only accept cash or check.

It's OK

No one messed with me or my RV. Must be fully self contained, no public restroom on site. Cash only!

Don't bother

This place is mostly fulltime residents and it shows. Not friendly office staff. After I checked in and paid I was informed bathrooms and showers are only for residents. Had been planning for a couple nights, but I'm outta here in the morning now....

Not the Worst

The park is a bit run down. There are definitely a lot of long term residents. It is right across the (busy) street from the harbor and less than a mile into town. 4 Verizon bars and decent WiFi. Showers weren't bad either. The spots are clean and they have full hook ups.

Frequently Asked Questions

What amenities are available at Sunset Harbor RV Park in Crescent City?

Sunset Harbor RV Park offers full hookup sites for RVs. The park has WiFi service, though quality may vary. Verizon cell service is strong with 4 bars reported. Note that bathroom and shower facilities are restricted to long-term residents only, so visitors must be fully self-contained. The park is conveniently located across from the harbor and less than a mile from town, making it accessible to local attractions and services.

How does Sunset Harbor RV Park compare to other RV parks in Crescent City, California?

Sunset Harbor RV Park differs from other Crescent City options primarily in its resident composition and amenities. The park primarily hosts long-term residents rather than short-term travelers. While the location is excellent—close to the harbor and town center—the facilities are older and somewhat basic compared to more tourism-focused RV parks. The restriction of bathroom and shower facilities to permanent residents is a notable difference from many other parks that cater to travelers. Its proximity to town services may be advantageous for those seeking convenience over resort-style accommodations.

Do I need reservations for Sunset Harbor RV Park, and what are the rates?

Reservations are recommended for Sunset Harbor RV Park, especially during busier seasons. Weekly rates run around $153, and payment is cash only—an important detail to prepare for before arrival. Daily rates aren't specified but would be proportionally less. Be aware that you must be fully self-contained as bathroom facilities are restricted to long-term residents. When making reservations, confirm current rates and availability directly with the park office as these details may change.
