I don’t know of a more perfect place to camp in the trees. Majestic views and so peaceful.

We stayed one night at this first come first served campground. We had a very nice visit, very relaxing and peaceful. I would definitely stay again.

We have stayed here twice now. We went for our second stay when visiting the Redwoods because we really appreciate a first come first serve campground. And this one is truly amazing! Tucked back in the Redwoods, you can hear highway noise from 101 but we chose a spot closer to the entrance and it didn’t bother us at all. The park has a day use area and even short trails that meander through the middle of the campground that are gorgeous. The camp host and his wife were so kind and sold firewood for $10 a bundle (by the way people, you shouldn’t just go up and take firewood when there is clearly a sign to ask the host…). Flush toilets. The only thing that would make this campground better are showers. Otherwise we had a great time here and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a spot in the area!

First off I must say I have stayed at many campgrounds this passed year. I’ve seen poorly managed, unkept & some amazing campgrounds. This campgrounds is rather peace & the location is wonderful. You camp amongst new growth Redwoods & most sights are quite nice affording some privacy. One drawback is no showers which would be nice. I do have 2 things that I found needs a little taking care of. First is that there's no showers. Second the restroom I used had overflowing trash & in the 5 days I spent at campground I did not see nor was it noticeable that they had been cleaned. I gave a 5 rating because the camp host & wife were fantastic. They were very courteous , sociable & helpful. They were attentive to people’s needs & desires! Giving me cause to overlook the minor issues. 

I recommend this campground & I wouldn’t hesitate to return!

We love to be outdoors as much as we can make it happen! This is close to our home and one off the friendliest places to camp.

Traveling around the country and we’ve come to the end of our time in California . We stopped here for a quick overnight stay and ended up staying two days in our Promaster van. Absolutely beautiful and clean. You are literally surrounded by redwoods and Douglas Fur. Came in late May mid day and most spots open. You will love sleeping under the second growth forest trees. very magical. Some noise from road but not bad. Clean bathrooms no shower .

So many gorgeous ferns and lush greenery all around. Reasonable firewood prices and knowledgeable camp host.

Small campground right off 101. 20$/night. Host was friendly and welcoming. Just spent the night on our way down the coast. Level sites, paved parking pads. Some trails through the trees. Very pretty and tucked away, although the noise of 101

A solid campground, with good bathrooms! The process to get a spot was easy, it's all first-come first-served so you just grab a slip/envelope, enclose the payment, and stick the receipt on your dash. The camp host was nice, and the area was clean.

We came in late and all the surrounding campgrounds were full. There were plenty of spaces to choose from at this park. The sites are nestled under beautiful redwood trees and there are great hiking  trails throughout the grounds. It has a big playground  for the youngsters. There is only one bathroom with flush toilets and they could use some serious updates. It can be quite a hike to the facilities from some of the sites. It has some portable toilets but they had not been emptied in a while and were disgusting.

The park is perfectly located to visit the surrounding State parks and Crescent City is only a short drive away.

Sites were a bit close for my taste. The redwoods make up fr it though. There is a kiddie park in walking distance.

My friend and i were car camping and looking for a place to stay around the area that was free and everything felt a little bit unsafe. We ended up settling on this campsite for only $20 a night. You drive in and find an open spot (there are plenty!) and then pay cash. This spot was beautiful and we both felt incredibly safe. Only stayed one night but it was wonderful and would have loved to stay more nights if we had been able to! Would stay again!!

Quiet unless you are next to the Hwy., which we were. At 8:30 pm it seems to be slowing down; regardless, you can’t hear it from other areas of the campground. Still, it did not bother me enough for it to damper my stay or change my rating.

So beautiful it is amazing to camp in these giant trees. Quiet and serene setting with trails around the campground. Clean bathrooms with a super playground and portable bathrooms staged around

This is a really great place to camp if you want to sleep in the redwoods. We went mid-week in early April. It was quite cold but the campground was pretty empty. The campsites are fairly large and with a good amount of space between them. There is water, trash and toilets but no shower. There is only one toilet in the whole campground.

This is one of my favorite campsites I’ve ever been to! It’s GORGEOUS and so serene. There are little walking trails throughout the whole park which are awesome, saw many people taking their dogs for a walk. We visited in early December and the temperature was bearable but pretty cold throughout the day due to the complete lack of sunlight. Definitely more of a summer camp. There are bathrooms on-site, but no showers. Camp host was very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this spot for visitors to Redwoods National Park!

A friend and I were driving the 101 south and stopped here before our Humboldt Redwood drive. We rolled in after dark. Great host and was relatively empty in December. $20 self-pay, bathrooms, and new growth redwood trees. The sites were close but there were many to choose from.

This campground is a total gem. Super close to crescent city yet tucked away in a beautiful, dense forest. It’s self check in, first come first serve and a flat $20. Only a few other campers were here when we came. I definitely recommend this spot, wether just passing through for a night or longer stay.

Planned a trip last minute and so we didn’t have any reservations for campgrounds within redwoods park. This ended up being so much nicer. It is first come first serve and the staff are super friendly. It’s in a new grove of redwoods but there are stumps of old grove redwoods near some of the campsites that are huge. We stayed in site 27 and it was perfect, had a trail right behind it with paths through the camp that are small but have streams running through them. Stayed at a roadside place about 10 minutes up the road the night before and once we saw this place we couldn’t believe we hadn’t kept driving.

Nice little campground in a Redwood Grove. Big stumps in the park remind you of the old giants. Sites are packed in, but laid out well. Sites have picnic table and fire ring.

Beautiful sites, some more spaced out that others. $20/night. Flush toilets, fire pit, and picnic tables. I got site 30 which was right next to the exit so a good amount of traffic but otherwise an amazing site in the trees! I had strong cell service through Verizon.

This is a great spot right in the redwoods. For only $15 a night tent camping, you really can’t beat it. Fresh water, bathrooms and fire pits with tables. Everything you could need. Camp hosts are friendly! Truly a magical place to stay

Enjoyed every visit. Watch for meat bees in the summer.

This place is absolutely breathtaking! I want to go up to this area every if I could. There is so much to see and so much to ponder. This is a great place to see what the world looked like Thousands of years ago!

With trees being hundreds and thousands of years old you get to see just a glimpse of what we were and where we came from. I was expecting to see a dinosaur at one point!

If you are planning to just drive through you are doing the wrong thing. You need to stay at least a week and walk through this magestic land!
