Description
Mixed-conifer forest in Stanislaus National Forest just outside the Big Oak Flat entrance to Yosemite holds this stretch of designated dispersed camping along a forest road, drawing a steady stream of campers using it as a base before or after the park. Roadside pullouts are flat and level, accessible to vans and lower-clearance vehicles, while sites deeper into the forest require high clearance and can get muddy after rain. No cell service reaches here, and nights are quiet despite the proximity to one of the country's most-visited national parks.
