Great Spot

Great little spot right by the river. The woods do get dark much quicker than the spots on the edge of the river (45min ish) so just be aware.

Ok

Small campsite, sites are close together and there’s no privacy. It is next to the river but there’s access to anyone staying at the campsite or not. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained, person in charge is friendly and is always around. First come first serve, firewood bundles are $10.00 each for pinewood. No showers, no hookups. It’s a good last minute option, sites are right next to the road so you get a bunch of car noise driving by.

A small strip of sites all together between the entrance and exit road

Plus side: close to Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park.  Sites in a small grove of Redwood trees, and next to the Smith River.

Cons: No privacy or space between sites. Every car that drives through looking for a spot is right next to your site, and so are all your neighbors. Not exactly a "getting away from it all" experience.
