Best Cabin Camping near Ladera Ranch, CA

A little something for every type of camping. Cabins, paved pull through & natural dirt & grass. Friendly staff to check us in gates close at 10:pm your provided with a security gate code to get back in if your out late.

Lots of families with children, fishing for catfish in the little lake which is shaded with trees and plenty of tables to picnic by the lake. Playground plus lots of grassy areas. We stayed in the natural area with hook-ups everything worked great.

Neighbors were nice, cute set ups with twinkle lights and people enjoying outdoor fire pits. Campers we’re playing music, laughter echoes through camp ground but nothing too loud and all quiet later.

We drove over to the Mission Inn (8 min drive) enjoyed lunch. Their is a pedestrian only shopping area with a Saturday farmer’s market plus lots of restaurants.

The campground sells firewood plus has a little store. Would stay again.

Really beautiful beach very clean with large bathrooms hot showers food nearby first come first serve shade structures. Camping on the beach also cabin rentals available through del mar beach reservations

This campgroud has two sections. The lakeview area has dirt roads, sparse grass and a few spots close to the lake. The Cottonwood campground has concrete pads and well maintained grass throughout. This campground may have been renovated recently by the looks of it.

There is a small store and a couple of cabins too, but the cabins don’t appear to be bookable via the website.

I stayed in both and liked the spacing and grass better in the cottonwood campground but overall this park was a nice surprise for us, especially given the limited amount of “good” campgrounds around LA.

Showers available, but only ok. Need to use tokens for them. Cottonwood has full hookups thru out, and lakeview is mostly just water/electric with a dump site near the entrance.

Definitely would stay again. Weekends are very busy here

Campground is well-organized, with cabins, RV spots, a youth area, tent spots and a ropes course. A pool, flushable toilets and hot showers are available to all campers for free.

The site is bordered by highways on both sides, and they create noise day and night. They're also clearly visible.

Stayed for a quick weekend when hubby still had to work. no tent camping, but RV and wood cabins. easy to get in and out of but the 91 freeway is overhead and loud. Nothing stopped us from enjoying ourselves and relaxing. bike path nearby as well as washing and having fun.

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

Very cute set up tent sites are right next to road but it’s not to busy of a road. They have a basketball court one, lake for fishing or swimming and paddle boats to go out on the lake. There are tv hook ups and cabins. I did not see any fire pits on sites. Bathrooms are ok and have locks which you need code for.

Have camped at new port dunes several times, they have a beach front for group tent camping on the sand, and also have tent camping in the resort. You can camp with RV's, Trailers, tents, and they also rent out cabins. In the middle of the lagoon they have blow up obstacle in the water to climb on.. great place to relax. It's pretty pricey because it's a resort but well worth the trip.

Relatively small rv park on Camp Pendleton directly on the beach. We were able to call in reservations early enough to get a front row spot (a tiny bit more expensive and back in sites only) and I think it makes it such a better experience. Camping directly on the sand makes for a dirty experience but it’s the beach! Our friends stayed in a beach cabin on the other end of the resort. Nice facilities there as well. Kinda more of a loud and partying crowd than most campgrounds. Nothing too crazy though. WiFi didn’t work too well. Fantastic place to camp on the beach with terrific views and facilities if you have base access.

Cozy getaway in San Bernardino Forst with beautiful hiking trails and waterfall.

Decent get away from LA. Had alot of bees and weekends are heavily trafficked. But always a nice time.

Great campground! Tented in spot #6, it has a steep driveway downhill but the spot is super private and has a beautiful view of the lake. The campground has coin operated showers ($1 for 5 mins) and has cheap boat rentals. The city is right outside the campground but it still feels like you’re in nature. Highly recommend!

Small campground on the edge of a local park. It was nice to feel a little getaway, but you can't escape seeing family's enjoying the park around you. I found the campground ranger to be a touch short and rude whenever I talked with him. He wasn't causing any problems. He just wasn't friendly. I won't camp here again.

Fisherman's is a nice, quiet getaway if you are a member. The members lake & camping spots are nice & quiet. Great place to relax & fish. Get a spot up against the lake. The non members lakes & camping spots can be a little ghetto. A lot of them are just travelers passing thru. So when it's early morning while all the fishing people are up and at it, they are still asleep. There's a nice little general store, restaurant and fish tournaments on Saturdays. They have a pool & a playground for the kids. It's far enough up in the canyon so you feel tucked away, far from city life but not too far that you can't run down the canyon to Walmart if you forgot something. There are 3 lakes that are stocked weekly or bi weekly. It's fun to watch the ducks & the pelicans flying around and landing & swimming on the water. All in all it's peaceful in the right location. We visit a couple times a month & it's a great getaway.

We live about 20 minutes away. This place is a great quick getaway for the weekend or when we have a few days off during the week. Easy trails and plenty of trees. Animal friendly. We camp in a travel trailer, they have hooks ups for water and electricity, no sewer at the sites, but they do have a dump near the entrance. Some people make a big deal about the highway, its not that bad.

I grew up in Oceanside and people talked about camping at Dixon lake in Escondido and I thought it was lame and not “real” camping. Having never been there, I based this off nothing. We finally went to check it out and I was wrong. This was a perfect place to get away that’s not a far drive. We stayed at site #32 and it was nice. You could barely see the lake, but it was enough. We did have to walk a little downhill for the bathrooms and the walk back wasn’t fun, but it’s short. I would stay here again and look for a spot that has a city view just to get the experience of both.

All the bells and whistles are available at this resort RV park including renting an RV on site. The location is great located right on the bay with lots of walking/bike riding trails, a beach with kayak rentals, and walkable to many restaurants (although Newport isn’t really a walking town). This is not the spot you want to go if you want some peace and quiet as it’s jam packed with families and party goers and is quite large. The sites vary from tiny dirt spots to larger paved ones right on the beach if you’re willing to pay a lot and book way ahead of time. I’m personally not a fan of this circus and look forward to moving on to a smaller, naturally beautiful campground like Crystal Cove State Park down the road.
