Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bonelli Bluffs

    Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

    Pechanga RV Resort

This Is A Resort With All Amenities

I spent a few nights using my Passport America discount at Pechanga RV Resort. I really liked it there. This is now one of my favorite RV resorts in California except for the showers. It is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that The park itself is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that is fenced in with gazebo, and picnic tables. First of all, it is part of the Casino with entertainment and restaurants. This casino reminds me of the Vegas casinos and now is under construction to make it a real Vegas Style Resort. It’s going to be finished sometimes in 2017.

The RV resort itself has a nice heated pool, Jacuzzi, ping pong table. They also have a golf club which could be important for some. One thing I hated is the showers. The RV resort shower has a timer set to 25 seconds and the showerhead is not able to stand upright. So you basically have to hold the shower in one hand and keep pressing the timer every 25 seconds. It’s December, it’s cold in the shower, especially because the water keeps shutting off. You end up standing soaking wet putting soap on yourself in the cold.

I wonder if the hotel rooms have timer on the showers as well. The person who came up with this idea should take showers in there each night. It pet-friendly resort, they also have an area for dogs. If you heading to the casino, they have a shuttle service 24/7 which picks ups from and drop-offs to and from your space. You have to call a number and they are there to pick you up in minutes.

About the WiFi! It’s the best WiFi ever in any parks I’ve so far visited! I wasn’t even close to the main building and had a great reception. I am able to use my Roku to watch Netflix and can use my laptop as well for work. I didn’t even need my Sprint or Verizon, but both work fine. Across the street, there is a 2-mile bike/walk trail. Using this and riding around the nice neighborhoods it was a fun way to get some exercise.

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

Paradise By The Sea RV Resort

    Amazing RV Resort Near Beach

A nicely appointed RV resort in downtown Oceanside with an awesome staff. Pull-through and back-in, full hookup spots available. Cable, wi-fi, a clubhouse with TV and PlayStation for the kids, pool table, games to check out, and a small swimming pool and hot tub. There are also outdoor community areas with ping-pong, bean-bag toss, grills, and other activities.

The resort is only a 5- minute walk to the beach and not far from Oceanside restaurants and shops. While it’s a tad spendy, you really do get a lot for your money with a great near beach location.

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

Mini golf and family games: Canyon RV Park features recreational amenities beyond standard camping. "Splash pad, park, mini golf great amenities," notes one visitor about the facilities available for families seeking structured activities.

Biking along Back Bay: Coastal campgrounds provide access to cycling trails. "There are fantastic running/bike trails along the Back Bay," shares one camper about the paved pathways accessible from Newport Dunes RV Resort, ideal for morning exercise with ocean views.

What Campers Like

Secure environment: Security measures are a highlight at several parks. "Great sense of community and great placement of the gates for safety purposes. Ranger is on constant patrol," mentions a camper at Rancho Jurupa Park, noting the attention to visitor safety.

Orange trees on property: Orangeland RV Park offers a unique agricultural experience. "You can pick all the oranges you want!" enthuses one reviewer, describing the citrus trees that provide fresh fruit throughout the property.

Urban convenience with nature access: Many sites balance city proximity with natural settings. "It may not seem nice when you are passing through town to get in, but once you enter the gates it's beautiful," explains a visitor about the contrast between surrounding urban areas and the park environment at Rancho Jurupa Park.

What You Should Know

Site leveling challenges: Several parks require equipment for leveling. "The sites were all uneven. Every camper we saw had to do major leveling efforts," reports a visitor at Launch Pointe, highlighting the need to bring leveling blocks.

Seasonal water conditions: Water quality varies throughout the year. "The beach was right there, close and beautiful right on Lake Elsinore. Yet the beach was disgusting, stinky and covered with algae," cautions a camper at Launch Pointe Recreation Destination and RV Park, emphasizing the need to check conditions before planning water activities.

Internet limitations: Working remotely may require personal hotspots at some locations. "Internet was great but it had bandwidth restraints that would turn your internet off after very small amounts of data used. There was no option to upgrade so you had to use your own hotspots," explains a digital nomad about connectivity limitations.

Tips for Camping with Families

Child-friendly water features: Multiple parks offer splash pads for children. "They have a movie on the beach when we were there, and fun water toys out," shares a family about their experience at Newport Dunes.

Playground access: Waterfront RV Park provides play areas for children. "A great pool. Nice beach. Nice market. Worth the stay," mentions a visitor describing the family amenities available on-site.

Group camping considerations: Designated areas for larger groups have different amenities. "Took Girl Scouts here for group camping. Rocky and sand. The family camping was fine! Girls used Porta Potties," explains a group leader about the distinctions between standard and group sites at Rancho Jurupa Park.

Tips from RVers

Site size variations within parks: Escondido RV Resort and similar parks have notable differences between sites. "Space 49 is small. The park is hilly. They didn't give us the right spot we needed when we made our reservations," cautions an RVer about the importance of confirming specific site dimensions when booking.

Parking logistics for towed vehicles: Some parks charge additional fees for tow vehicles. "Their site measurements are for your camping unit ONLY. If you have a tow vehicle or are towing a vehicle you must pay per night for a parking spot," warns a visitor about supplemental costs at certain locations.

Sewer hose requirements: Pack appropriate equipment lengths. "You must have a 25ft sewage hose," notes a camper about specific hookup requirements at certain parks, showing the importance of having adequate accessories for full hookup sites.
