Walter's Camp RV Park & Campground

    Leave city life behind.

Come slow things down at this wonderfully secluded campground. About 6 miles off the main highway down a rough dirt road lies this hidden gem. Whether you’ve got a boat to launch, a travel trailer, or a good ol’ fashion tent, you’re welcome here! Located right on the beautiful Colorado River! Heads up, this place gets packed during the warm months!

Walter's Camp RV Park & Campground

    Nice off the beaten path

Not the fanciest but it was a nice quiet area with full hookups. Only $40 a night included utilities and WiFi. We saw some wildlife. Nice little hike in the scrub pines. Close to town but far enough to feel like we were away from it all. Smaller park. I think 44 spaces. They had laundry room I didn’t use. Sell Propane if you need it. Offered bathrooms and showers but didn’t look very clean so I used my own since water was hooked up.

Walter's Camp RV Park & Campground

Could be quite - expect to dry camp

Most certainly a relaxing place. Lots of birds. Quite except for the store fridge compressor that ran and ran. Hosts are friendly. We were the only ones there. Expect to dry camp. There are no power hookups. The campground does have a central RV dump station, so you can dump before you hit the road. There are water hose hookups, but I would not introduce this water into your RV. It is brownish and not well treated. It is basically river water from a shallow well that ran through a sediment filter. You can wash dishes with it outside using a basin, but that's about it. I will say the community showers are great. Hot water and seemingly the same water at the sites but somehow seems clear. Anyway showers are great. Oh, one more thing, we choose a site sort of close to the store and showers. Well the store has a noisy compressor that runs pretty much 24 hours a day. Seemingly never cycles on and off. Very annoying.

Fountain of Youth Spa RV Resort

In the desert - a fountain

Nice people, mainly for during the winter here.

SPA and pool is nice - but no fire allowed. We took the cheapest side for 39. But they also have some with a table and more atmosphere.

    dirt camp is 30.

Walter's Camp RV Park & Campground

    Great stay off the Colorado.

Pulled in for a night, and stayed 3. Clean camp, showers with great pressure and plenty of hot water. Stayed on the river with great access for swimming and fishing. Very quiet this time of year, also great access to BLM lands for Off road, etc, disperse camping is an option. Hosts were great.

Walter's Camp RV Park & Campground

    Wonderfull hidden gem.

About 6 miles off the paved road. Roads were graded last week and pretty decent drive, although its posted that 4x4 is sometimes recommended. Host Tabatha is very friendly and helpful. Sites with full hookup, and you can get at waters edge if you Have you Generator. Here on weekdays end of September and very serene. Just what I was looking for.

Walter's Camp RV Park & Campground

    Hospitality on the river

Walter's Camp is a great launch point up the Colorado River. I don't own a boat but if I did this would be a regular spot. The drive in is a couple miles on dirt road. Take it slow if you have to but chances are you can get there just fine! You may get some excitement from other guests enjoying the river but all in all this is a relaxing campground with hospitable hosts. The grounds are well maintained and the local campground dogs will greet you with open paws. Bring your dog and fishing pole and head into their general store for some cold beer. You'll have a good time! P.s. 5mph speed limit within the campgrounds is necessary due to foot traffic, especially from kids playing.

Fountain of Youth Spa RV Resort

Great, Clean Campground for Winter Fun

I've spent many weekends at this resort over the last 15 years or so, visiting my grandparents that lived here in the winter. Tons of activities, clean and quiet, such a wonderful spot!
