A little tight but worth it

Cute campsite right against the river. Fun for everyone especially the dogs. This time of the year the spaces next to the water are very shaded. Sunny across the street. Walked a trail to a nice bistro where we found some craft beer, cheese plate and fries. Delicious. Super friendly everywhere. We…

Gorgeous location- but come early in the morning to get a spot

This is one of my favorite campsites due to iats relatively small size and gorgeous views of Big Sur. There is a cute, rocky private beach with access from the campground and a long hiking trail across the street that is dog friendly (just be aware of poison oak).

Just note that if planning…

Coastal beauty at its finest

If you are driving up from the south and going to Big Sur this is a great place to camp for the night. It captures the beauty of the coastline and has some hiking trails down to the water. They had firewood for sale when we were there which was super convenient. There isn’t much more that needs to…

Cold NorCal Beach

The beach is socked in with mist even on sunny days most of the year. Little ones might not like the 1 mile flat hike in, but it’s easy and feels very short on the way out. There is a fee but it’s waived if you are staying at pfieffer state park. You do need to cross a small river (knee deep in…

This park is not closed

Gorgeous, quite and peaceful. This place felt half empty on Memorial Weekend. No mosquitos or ticks which was unusual. The river is running very low but it’s still gorgeous. We had a premium river site and a larger open site. I would stay closer to the river or in an open meadow for sunshine. The…

Unique, no-frills campground close to Monterey

I had my doubts trying this campground out.  Right next to a race track? No potable water?  But it turns out my doubts were unfounded.  My daughter and I had a great time here!  A short list of things we liked and things we didn't.

Pros:

- Beautiful views!  Not every site has them, but most…

  • Playground and view of the racetrack
  • Porta Potties closer to the site than the walk to the bathroom
  • I was assigned one of these sites first. These are really trailer sites and SOOOO close together. I asked for a change and they accommodated.

Great park!

Campgrounds were great! We had site 95 and I have to say that our 26 ft trailer plus our truck was a tight squeeze. There were bigger sites that would've suited us better but it was a nice little tucked in site. The poison oak is prolific. Our site was literally surrounded by it. But if you can…

Beautiful and quiet

Went to tent camp at site #14 (close to the bathrooms and showers) last week. I booked online in advance and arrived a little before check in. Checked in and found the camp hosts to be so helpful and nice. They also have ice, water, firewood and other items available for purchase. Stayed for about…

Awesome primitive camping

This is a primitive campground, no showers only vault toilets and restroom near visitor center ( 2 min walk from campground) both decently clean. Water for washing dishes is available. Spots are not close to each other so there is privacy. It is small, quiet, surrounded with beautiful views. Good…

Beautiful & Clean!

We loved camping here with our 25ft camping trailer. There was plenty of room for it on site 105, however if it was any higher it would be hitting tree limbs. Our site was private but easy to get to trails, showers, bathrooms. Etc. if you have littles the roads are paved so a scooter or bike could…
