Merced River Resort

Anglers will find river access at Merced River Resort, though the steep incline limits swimming opportunities according to campers who have stayed here. The campground accommodates RVs up to 72 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections. Sites are primarily back-in style and tend to run small, with many long-term residents occupying spots throughout the property.

The campground features mature trees providing shade across much of the area, plus a dedicated dog park and children's play area. However, noise proves problematic for some visitors due to nearby highway traffic, an adjacent factory, and frequent train passages. Mr. And Mrs. M. notes it's a "quiet park with lots of shady trees" but adds that "river access is limited though because of the steep incline." Restroom facilities include showers, though accessibility and maintenance have been inconsistent based on recent visitor reports.

Rates run around $55-61 per night for full hookups. The property allows pets and takes reservations year-round. For campers exploring the broader Central Valley region, campgrounds around Stevinson offer additional options. The nearby McConnell State Recreation Area Campground provides a state park alternative just over two miles northeast. Book ahead if you prefer sites away from the long-term residential section.

Many mentioned friendly hosts and full hookups as positives, though several reviews cited maintenance issues and cleanliness concerns. Noise levels vary significantly by location within the park.

Good for the night

$61 a night for full hookups. Showers available but not ADA compliant so my husband couldn't use it. Large dog park but a person in there had an aggressive dog so we couldn't use it

Loud and expensive

I can not even begin to tell you how bad this campground is. Loud with highway noise, factory next door and train goes through many times a night. Most camper are there full time and are very sketchy. Junk all over. Bathrooms gross. $55 a night to not sleep and be grossed out.

Shady spot

We stayed here for 5 weeks. Quiet park with lots of shady trees, a dog park and kids play area. River access is limited though because of the steep incline. No swimming spots but good fishing areas. Full hookups were much appreciated! The restrooms did not have working showers at the time hopefully that has been fixed.

Too crowded and small

Lovely lady met us immediately upon pulling into campground. Had us all set up with clear directions to site. Sites are extremely small and from what I’ve been able to tell mostly back in sites.

Keep driving

We were out in a site in the back with the full time residents. The grass was not mowed and it was very nasty. Will not stop again.
