Lake Tahoe KOA operated seasonally from April through October 2018 before closing permanently. The campground sat beside a creek approximately seven to ten minutes from the Y intersection in South Lake Tahoe, providing drive-in access with full hookups for RVs including electric, water, and sewer connections.
Sites were notably compact, described by visitors as parking spot-sized and positioned close together. The layout placed picnic tables directly adjacent to neighboring fire pits. Black bears actively moved through the area during camping season, with documented incidents including vehicle break-ins and cooler raids at occupied sites. The facility offered standard KOA amenities including restrooms, showers, dump station, and WiFi access before its permanent closure.
