Waterside sites at Iron Gate Reservoir put campers within steps of the dock and boat launch, though the reservoir has had documented blue-green algae issues with no posted notices on-site. The BLM-managed Camp Creek Campground is free, with port-a-potties reported as clean and stone picnic tables at each site. Water spigots exist but have not always been operational. Horses roam the recreation area freely, which reviewers flagged as a concern for dogs. Navigation is a known problem here; searching "Camp Creek Campground" in Google Maps works better than relying on listed coordinates. BLM Mallard Cove Campground is a nearby alternative worth considering.
