Camping near huge houses & permanent residents

Cute small campground in the woods. Quiet with free ice..which was so nice. Campground host was very welcoming. Downside? There are people permanently living in the campground with their pit bulls. So instead of a fun camping experience,it’s like a homeless encampment. You are also in the middle of a bunch of houses. No fires, propane fires allowed.

Amenities, they got it!

I camped at Tahoe Donner Campground for 4 nights at the end of their season. This place is a hikers/bikers paradise. Miles of trail systems for all skill levels that start from the campground. The town of Truckee is a 10 minute drive away for all supplies, dining, and tourist attractions/activities. When you return to camp from exploring, you’ll find water, *electric, bathrooms/showers, WiFi, ice, laundry, and a dish washing station. Bonuses include ping-pong, volleyball, badminton, and horseshoes. The campground is nestled in the pine trees adjacent to Alder Creek and many sites have a view of the creek! The old couple who manage the campground are super friendly and can provide a wealth of information of activities in the area. Honestly a perfect campground for staying in the Lake Tahoe area. *RV sites only

Mostly for families with kids

The sites here are super close together so be prepared for that.

The water and electric are at the very back of very looong spaces so you May need an extension, depending on how close you want to be to your neighbor.

Glamping with the HOA

Nice little campsite. Very clean and organized. Nice little creak runs right by the camping area. Tons of biking and hiking trails in the area. There is also a OHV area just down the road.

Great smaller campground

We were here for 3 nights, a beautiful area with lots of trails around, a nice and very well maintained campground and very friendly host. Close to Truckee which is a cute town. We'll be back!

Great spot!

Campgrounds were well kept nice bathrooms if needed and the campground host she was awesome! We needed a place to rest our heads before heading back to Santa Cruz and we pulled in with our Ram Promaster and got an RV spot 👍🏾 very family oriented and peaceful. We’ll definitely be back again.
