Accessible via paved roads with sites accommodating RVs up to 50 feet, Tahoe Donner Campground provides full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections. The facility requires reservations and charges $45-$200 per night depending on site type and season. Sites stretch along Alder Creek, with many offering creek views and the sound of running water throughout the stay.
The campground sits within a pine forest setting where Donner Memorial State Park Campground provides additional camping options nearby. Trail systems begin directly from the campground, giving hikers and mountain bikers immediate access to varied terrain without driving elsewhere. "Miles of trail systems for all skill levels that start from the campground," notes Kyle R.. The facility includes clean restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, WiFi, and recreational equipment like ping-pong tables and volleyball nets.
Sites are positioned close together, with utilities located at the back of long spaces that may require extension cords depending on RV placement. The campground provides free ice and maintains clean facilities daily. Campfires are restricted to propane only. The town of Truckee sits 10 minutes away for supplies and dining, while campgrounds around Truckee offer alternatives for those wanting different settings or availability.
