Getting to Cherry Creek Campground requires a capable vehicle. The road in is rough enough that 4WD is a practical necessity, especially for campers pushing all the way to the upper sites at the end of the trail. Set within Los Padres National Forest outside places to camp near Frazier Park, the campground runs alongside a small creek and gives access to mountain views from the higher elevations. Campfires are permitted, and at least one established firepit with available wood has been noted at the upper site. Wildlife is active at night, including small game animals. Pleito Creek Rustic Campsite is a nearby alternative for campers who want a different setup in the same general area.
