Pine trees shade four or five sites at Marian Campground, a small Forest Service camp set within Los Padres National Forest above Maricopa. The access road is rough enough to warrant attention, though reviewers note most cars can handle it without four-wheel drive. No water is available on site, and there are no bathrooms at Marian itself, though a pit toilet sits near the entrance to Caballo Campground, less than a mile away. Campers who pack in their own water and supplies will find camping near Los Padres National Forest generally suits those comfortable with self-sufficient, low-amenity stays. The campground is open May through November and allows pets and campfires. RVs are limited to 16 feet.
Description
Jeffery Pine shaded camp along a ridgeline. Steep, narrow dirt road. High-clearance vehicle recommended.
