Within Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, this California Department of Parks and Recreation campground accommodates RVs up to 30 feet and requires walk-in access to sites. The winding road from Santa Rosa leads to a popular destination where families frequently camp among large rock formations that provide natural climbing opportunities. Sites back up to these boulder areas, creating distinct camping zones. Bird activity remains high throughout the area, with multiple species commonly observed. The campground operates on both reservation and walk-in availability, with nightly rates ranging from $35 to $165. Standard amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, and firewood sales, plus cell service coverage. For different camping experiences, visitors can explore places to camp near Kenwood or check the nearby Group Camping Area - Sugarloaf Ridge State Park for larger gatherings.
