Rocky Knoll Campground

Water enthusiasts can access nearby Silver Lake from Rocky Knoll Campground, a US Forest Service site operating from May through October in Lassen National Forest. The campground features a single loop with vault toilets on each side and drinking water available. Campsites offer generous space but present challenges for larger tents due to the dirt parking surfaces and terrain layout.

Located less than half a mile from Silver Bowl Campground, the area provides access to places to camp around Lassen National Forest for extended forest exploration. A creek runs alongside the campground, and the no-pets policy helps maintain the quiet atmosphere that characterizes this drive-in site. Campers should prepare for primitive conditions and pack accordingly for the forest setting.

Annual Family Spot

We camp at Silver Lake every year. Absolutely beautiful place. Lake is a little walk from the campground. Primitive camping.

Quiet

Definitely a quiet campground. Only one other person was there. Nice creek runs by it. Two vault toilets, one on each side of the loop. Spacious campsites but would probably be challenging for larger tents. No pavement up here so there is only dirt to park on.
