No reservations are needed. The soil here is loose volcanic sand, which can cause rigs without 4x4 to bog down when maneuvering, so backing straight in is the safer approach. No cell signal has been reported, though open sightlines to the north make satellite internet viable. A vault toilet is on-site but not reliably maintained. Mosquitoes run thick in early July. No pets are permitted. Campers interested in primitive camping near Lassen National Forest or the nearby Butte Lake Group campground have options close at hand.
