Lundy Lake Resort

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Shade from the surrounding canyon walls and water within steps of the tent make Lundy Lake Resort one of the more distinctive county-run campgrounds in the Eastern Sierra. Sites are rustic but well-kept, each with a picnic table and bear locker, and several sit close enough to the lake that anglers can reach the water without much of a walk. Deer are a regular presence in camp. Reviewers consistently note the site spacing, with many spots set apart from one another in a way that limits the feel of crowding on quieter weekdays.

The campground fills up on summer weekends. Arriving mid-week, as some visitors have found, means a better chance at the waterside sites and a noticeably less congested experience. Showers and flush toilets are available on-site, and a dump station accommodates RVs up to 30 feet. Firewood is sold at the resort, and campfires are permitted. The area also gives reasonable access to day trips toward Mono Lake, Bodie State Historic Park, and Yosemite's eastern approaches, making it a workable base for campers covering the region. Those interested in camping near Mono City will find a range of options across the broader corridor.

"The campground was relatively empty," notes Bonnie M. of a Thursday arrival, a timing tip worth keeping in mind. Campers wanting a more primitive setup nearby might consider Lundy Canyon Campground or Trumbull Lake to the northwest.

Classic Sierra Camping

A beautiful setting at the head of Lundy Canyon. Recently under new management that has resurrected this lovely place. Excellent wooded sites, lots of privacy. Large RV sites with full hook ups or secluded tent sites with no facilities except showers available and fresh water. Friendly owners love on site. Excellent fishing with boat rentals and a little store.

Absolutely beautiful

A great jumping off point for the region. Inexpensive with toilets and showers right up the road at the private campground.

Escape the crowds

We arrived on a Thursday afternoon. This campground is a first come, first served, no reservations required. Campsites come with a picnic table and bear locker. Beautiful spots near the water were availabe and the campground was relatively empty. This was the perfect place to escape the crowds and do a little stargazing near Mono Lake, Yosemite and Bodie State Park.
