Fishing draws most visitors to Jane's Reservoir campground, a first-come, first-served site in Modoc National Forest open May through October. A small lake sits nearby, though it's modest in size and scope. Mosquitoes are aggressive here despite the elevation, so pack accordingly. There's no potable water on site and no trash service, so campers must haul everything out. Two vault toilets are available but have been reported in declining condition. RVs up to 22 feet can access the site. It tends to work best for self-sufficient anglers comfortable with minimal infrastructure.
Description
This campground, located some 30 miles north of Alturas along Crowder Flat Road should be known for it's true beauty and solitude. The campground circles the south-eastern section of the lake.
