BLM Land in the Alabama Hills area north of Lone Pine gives campers a dispersed site with open sightlines toward the surrounding mountain ranges. A 4x4 is recommended; low-clearance vehicles may have difficulty on the access road. Cell service is available. Campfires and pets are permitted, and the area draws visitors who arrive late and find the site uncrowded. Nearby dispersed options include Alabama Hills on Movie Road roughly a mile to the northwest. This site suits self-sufficient campers comfortable with primitive conditions and rougher road access.
