Lower Billy Creek

With direct access to Huntington Lake and Billy Creek, Lower Billy Creek serves anglers and swimmers looking for waterfront camping in Sierra National Forest. The Forest Service campground accommodates RVs up to 38 feet and offers standard amenities including drinking water, restrooms, and trash service year-round.

Sites sit right on the lake with open views across the water toward surrounding mountains. One camper noted the pit toilets and bright bathroom lighting as drawbacks, though the camp host provided solutions for the lighting issue. The Upper Billy Creek Campground sits just upstream for those preferring a creek-side setting over lake access.

Cozy with a spectacular view!

The view from every site can not be beat. Our site was right on the lake and boasted fantastic views of Huntington Lake, especially at sunset when the mountains would glow orange and pink.

The only draw back was the pit toilets and excessively bright light outside the bathrooms. It kept us up until our camp host suggested covering it up with cardboard and duct tape.
